I don’t typically leave low-star reviews, but I felt compelled to share our recent experience due to the noticeable gap between the high prices and the lackluster food quality.
We stopped by this restaurant for a quick breakfast before heading out on a long road trip. I chose it based on solid reviews and the inviting look of the place—it seemed like a safe bet. The front of the house was clean and well-kept, and we were seated quickly despite a busy morning crowd, which was promising.
Our server was friendly, though noticeably disengaged and not particularly enthusiastic about her role. She took our drink order promptly, and we were served orange juice that, unfortunately, was clearly from concentrate—not freshly squeezed as you’d expect at this price point.
I ordered the Strawberry Crepes ($17.95), and my husband chose the Dungeness Crab Eggs Benedict with hash browns ($25.95). While we don’t mind paying premium prices for a quality meal, what we received fell far short of reasonable expectations.
When the food arrived, my crepes were cold and rubbery, not the warm, delicate, and lightly crisp texture one hopes for. The strawberry compote was extremely watered down and lacked any fresh flavor—more reminiscent of canned fruit than the “fresh Oregon strawberry compote” advertised on the menu. The strawberries had a tinny aftertaste and the dish was, frankly, unappetizing. I could only stomach part of the first crepe and left the rest untouched.
My husband’s crab benedict was similarly disappointing. The presentation was uninspired, and the flavor did not justify the high cost. The hash browns were the only saving grace on his plate.
Although our server asked if I wanted a box, I declined without making a scene—it wasn’t her fault. This seems more like a failure in kitchen quality control and overall management oversight. A restaurant that charges nearly $20–$25 per plate needs to consistently deliver quality ingredients, proper preparation, and a more welcoming dining experience.
While the space itself had a cozy, homey vibe, the food and service did not reflect the kind of care or warmth you would expect if someone were truly hosting you in their home. If management wants to justify these premium prices, they need to seriously reevaluate food quality, sourcing, and kitchen execution.
Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed and regretting the stop. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and cannot govern this restaurant a good recommendation...
Read moreYesterday me and my family went out to eat at our local pig n pancake and we got the worst service we have ever seen on the coast in the 15 years we have been out here, we tried to substitute pork for hashbrowns because there is a pork allergy (kinda silly to go to this place with a pork allergy, besides the point I work in a restaurant out here and we go above and beyond to make sure allergies are taken care of for our customer) not pig n pancake they told us their manager said that we can’t substitute hashbrowns for bacon and then we got our food ordered waited and got our food timing wasn’t too bad, then almost all of our food was out the only plate we were missing was for my 3 year old sister and we had to wait 10 + mins after they brought our food out. Then after they finally brought it because I had to ask 3 different staff members to bring it they also had a problem with us asking for a lid and straw for the 3 year old so we didn’t have water everywhere…. We were missing food and when we asked about it they told us it came out, and it didn’t then she kept trying to turn it around on us. So she finally brought the sides we were missing and after arguing with us about how we ordered the side of eggs she told us we ordered it runny and we said make sure it’s cooked at the way, then we didn’t get it until we were about to leave, we were told there was a manager on site and then when we asked to see them on our way out then said there wasn’t any managers at the location and kept shoving their phone in my face to talk to the “manager” that was on the phone and we walked to talk to a manager in person, still followed us to the parking lot. One of my worst restaurant experiences ever I’ll make sure to tell people how bad it was and to never come here or recommend it to anyone. Only semi good thing about this was the server was sweet but fake as hell. Again im a local I work in the restaurant business, this...
Read moreThe only reason this doesn’t get 1 star is because our current waitress was very sweet & actually working hard. Otherwise our experience was horrible.
On the way to being seated we were informed “just so you know, we close in 20 minutes”. We asked if it was still ok to be seated & order & eat in since we were headed out for our 3 hour drive home. The host said “ yeah” showed us the rest of the way to our table then walked away.
Our waitress was very sweet and didn’t rush us at all, even though we were trying to get ordered quickly to not keep anyone there too late. When our food came out, our toast (white & English Muffin) was burnt, and our eggs & hash browns were undercooked. Because we didn’t want to make a fuss, we ate what we could and left.
While we were eating we witnessed almost all the other employees on their phones. The only people we could see actually working was our waitress & a man that was vacuuming (basically the whole time we were there, which didn’t make for a pleasant experience, either. But we did appreciate his work ethic as he was likely doing as he was asked to do).
We were definitely very let down since we read so many positive reviews!! If they want to close at a certain time, they shouldn’t seat people to be served. Everyone should get the same dining experience no matter when they arrive, if they are willing to serve them.
