Affordable, comfortable, clean, centrally located and nicely renovated. The reviews about thin walls is definitely a thing but wasn't a problem for us. It was a slower weekend but we did notice we could hear every step someone made above us, could hear everywhere a toddler was running and yelling (in glee) down the hallway on our floor, even when we were in the elevator (odd). But it didn't keep us awake or wake us up the next morning. I don't know what it would be like there at full capacity. If you're staying on the front side of the building on the first floor, you might get car lights in your windows from people parking. Stay on 2nd or 3rd floor to avoid that. . The staff were all extremely kind, alert, helpful and welcoming. In this price range, I would choose and highly recommend this hotel again, especially when you figure in the free breakfast. We ate biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs (catering ones probably made from dehydrated eggs), yogurt, Cheerios and instant oatmeal. There were individually packaged chocolate muffins, hard boiled eggs, bagels w/cream cheese or butter and of course juice, tea and coffee. There was also a coffee maker in the room, along w/a smaller fridge (that didn't seem super cold) and microwave. The coffee made at breakfast was really light, if anyone cares about these things. Ha! The breakfast area was very clean and felt comfortable for social distancing while you ate and watched the news on the TV. . I think it's worth mentioning the pool is indoors and just across the parking lot in a separate building, where the workout room is too. Maybe bring flip flops to wear back and forth. It stayed open until pretty late which is a nice. . As someone who often travels for business and with USB phone chargers, I appreciated the extra plug spaces below the desk area for my phone and laptop cords. The shower pressure and heat were perfect, which is something I'm most critical of. Because it is a tub and because I read someone had troubles with this, I happened to notice the tub drain was closed. I just lifted it to open and it began to drain. No issues here! We also really liked all the hooks on the walls in the room foyer. . I thought it was really cool they offered a room add-on for glass floats (beautiful blown glass spheres often found on the beaches), made locally. This is brilliant and would be a very cool gift for anyone, or to keep as a memory keepsake. . The casino is a five minute drive away, you're within five minutes from 3+ different beach access points (one you can drive down onto sand), Starbucks is 2-3 blocks north (accepts mobile orders), there's a pizza place in the parking lot next door and many other food locations in the area. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did, even for just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell, I had our hardwood floors redone and had to leave the house while the floor guy did his magic. Using Yelp, Google, and hotel booking found the Inn at Wecoma and it had good reviews, near the beach and town. I reserved the suite but on the first night, we stayed in a 2 queen room with a slider so I could sit outside and read. No problem. My wife stayed in the room because she has fibromyalgia and bad hip's so she is not mobile. We move to the 1 bedroom with a full kitchen (pretty nice for 40.00 bucks more) on the second day. I let the front desk know there are no outside chairs and could I have 2. Now the fun begins. I fell backward while using exec chair outside to read. I had already asked for outdoor chairs but 2 hours had passed and they had not shown up. Hurt back, skinned head and leg. I was in a lot of pain, they offered for me to go to the hospital, but for what? Iāve hurt my back before and the sauna would be the best cure. Next fun part. In bringing food to my wife from the breakfast room to our room (she is not very mobile) breakfast person tried to stop me saying "Thatās not allowed". I repeated my wife is disabled and canāt come easily. Desk person tried to backup breakfast lady in telling me āNoā. I told them "I Donāt think so", I should have left then, but you know the floors are not done. Next, I rummage sale 2 set of Waterford crystal cups (6 wine goblets 5.00$, 8 tall wine goblets $12.00) from retirement home down the street and offered the young lady behind the desk whom I thought that I had some good conversations with a set for free. Next thing I know the day manager and a LARGE groundskeeper guy show up at the door to our room and proceed to dress me down for making the front desk āUncomfortableā. And I need to āChill outā and my music is Too loud (our door faces the trash area and the next lot, so I guess when I'm cruising around in my wife's power chair in the parking lot???). Again I should have left but we were having our hardwood floors done and I didnāt want my wife to have to pack/unpack AGAIN. So my wife contacted one of the principles at "VIP Hospitality Group" in Portland, she said Nadia Benyahich called and said "I" had created complaints that "No compensation". I will get this message posted as many places as I can if I canāt get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe loved this hotel! The Inn at Wecona is a basic hotel that exactly suited our needs for a one-night trip to Lincoln City. The desk staff was extremely nice, and even helped me fix a mistake I had made in making my reservation. At check in a different staff member was also kind, informative and helpful with restaurant recommendations. She even helped us with utensils when the restaurant we used didn't include them with our food.
Our room was clean and comfortable. We brought our dog, and he received treats, pooh bags and his own booklet travel services in the area. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had great water pressure and lots of hot water. We had a patio room, which was easy to take our dog directly outside. And since our guy is a senior dog, he very much appreciated no steps. The room has a fridge and a microwave to use. Also, lots of wall hooks for coats and other items. I liked that feature. There is a TV and DVD player to use as well.
The beach from this hotel is a hike, or an easy drive. Off season it was no trouble to find public parking at various beaches, so we didn't mind. There are many restaurants within walking distance.
The indoor pool is actually a separate building, but the pool was warm enough for February swimming and the whirlpool was very nice as well. We had the pool completely to ourselves when we were there.
Parking was assigned and located right by your room door, so that made loading/unloading very easy.
Breakfast was, to us, completely adequate. Decent coffee, a few hot items (eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy) and cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, juices, fruit cups and bagels were available. The staff member coordinating breakfast was very sweet and helpful. They also have water and coffee in the lobby at all times. We got chocolate chip cookies in the evening.
I had read reviews about noise and other issues. We could hear our neighbor's microwave when it dinged, but otherwise, we didn't hear footsteps or loud noises. It is off season, however, this hotel, when full, might be a little louder. We just didn't experience that.
We will absolutely consider staying here again. It was a solid, predictable, comfortable space that worked perfectly for us. We enjoyed our stay...
