This is 2 experiences in one review, bc they were sold out of the chowder and chicken + waffles when we went the first time.
1st Visit: We got the halibut, fries, and rosemary fries. My wife loved the rosemary fries, I thought they were equally as good as the regular fries, which means they're definitely good fries, but not necessarily 'you GOT to try their fries' level of good. They're solid 👍
...the halibut was actually disappointing. It's halibut season so I expected to taste some fresh fish, but if you hadn't told me it was halibut, I would have assumed it was just some frozen then fried cod. Luckily, the tarter sauce is tastey, so altogether the meal is great as a whole.
2nd Visit: Chowder and Chicken + Waffles...now we're talking! Forget Mo's and the Oyster Bar's reviews about their supposed great chowder, my wife and I tried both and they were both very bland. Squatchsami however knows how to do chowder right! Perfectly executed ratios, consistency, and flavor! Some additional seasoning could be added to really make this stand out above others elsewhere, but as far as we can tell, this is the BEST chowder in Lincoln City! Order early because it goes fast for a reason!
The chicken and waffles didn't disappoint either. The chicken is large and perfectly breaded and fried. The waffle looks amazing, especially with the bacon butter jam on top, but being completely honest there's not a ton of flavor to taste in either, so it's best to eat it all as one because the chicken really carries the dish 🤌
I tried dipping the chicken in some Cajun remoulade they sell on the side but that was extremely vinegary, so I'd avoid that one. (Hey Squatch, try a chipotle mayo instead 😉)
All said and done, you MUST try this place! I imagine they'll be big enough for a brick and mortar place at some point, so go support what they're doing so they can keep it going on a...

They are our MUST HAVE every trip to the coast! Finding them next to Beachcrest Brewing Co. in the Salishan Markets is THE perfect pairing, but once (or twice!) a trip is never enough. Their food options are such MIND BLOWING, savor the flavor experiences--each and every time. As a born and raised coasty, I appreciate the tried and true classic options found most places, but honestly --sometimes -- after a week or two of beach fair, it can get old….NOT the way the Squatchsami mastermind presents them, with their high end twist and obvious attention to every detail! Their food is NEXT LEVEL! Clearly, a lot of thought, painstaking care and sheer genius goes into each locally sourced meal. YUMMM!
We just had to have them serve our party guests, there are just times when it’s best to leave things to the professionals. (What?! I can cook …Ha) The result was mouthwatering, stress free perfection. We are so excited to support this fun family business as it grows to its full potential! May this journey be everything you want it to be SQUATCHSAMI TEAM! You have some life-long and pleasantly stuffed die-hards right here!!
Next time, I won’t be forgetting an order of clam chowder to bring home to our freezer! And while I love the vibe at the BBC@SM, this on-the-go family was VERY excited to hear you are now offering Beach Boxes (To Go) and online ordering options. This is such a win… I mean, how few places can you go that actually please each member of the family and take it where the fun is?! And their COVID-19 precautions are SO appreciated, because in the absence of reliable information from respected sources, an ounce of caution really does go a long way! Thanks for checking every box guys!

Read moreMy wife positively loves the fish and chips from Squatchsami. This is a must stop for us whenever we're in the area. I wanted to try the chix and fries; however, they've been sold out when we've stopped by. They offer normal chips or rosemary chips. Both my wife and I prefer the normal chips. The rosemary chips aren't bad. I think we're just not accustomed to the combination. I must admit we've only tried them on one occasion. The food is sold from a truck that can be found in the Southside parking lot. We have found it on the Northside as well. There is an indoor eating shop with Squatchsami merch for sale, should you like to eat there. We've taken the food to go which my wife then nibbles on as we drive to our home away from home for the week. The staff are friendly and easy to interact with during both the ordering process and while picking up the food. There is plenty of parking. We highly recommend Squatchsami!
Edit 02/18/2023: Stopped by Squatchsami today and was able to try the chix and fries. They were fantastic. My wife and I also decided to stay and eat instead of taking the food to go. We ordered at the truck and a short time later, the food was brought to us. The dining area is clean, bright, and comfortable. Overall, Squatchsami is...
