It is a nice beach except for the people that were on the beach that day. Visitors and / or locals there at the time my 81 yr old mother and she is 90 pounds, 4 feet 11 inches tall, and was walking way up on the beach looking for shells, and rocks when a big sneaker wave hit her and knocked her down, hurting her left side. And that was a huge wave!! Then another medium-sized wave came and tried to pull her in, as a smaller wave, and even smaller wave came in behind that one. Thank you, Lord, for our friend Cindy. She saw her and pulled her to safety. There were at least 20 younger people there too, and not one of them came to help her. That made me mad and sad, knowing that those people could have helped her but didn't. Sad but true. I came over to help her try and walk her back to the car, and our friend went to bring the car closer. I do not think we will visit that...

My mother lives at the Tree n' sea Trailer park thats across the parking lot from this beach and while i was living with her i worked at Moe's restaurant thats located right on the beach. This is still my favorite place ive ever lived. i am A resident in Washington State and have been my whole life (37yrs) besides the 6 months or so i lived in taft. still to this day, i have never felt more at home anywhere else like i did those few months. the people are so great, the vibe is awesome and it's just really beautiful and peaceful. here's a couple pictures of my daughter when she was 10 while she came to visit before her and I went back home to Washington. these photos were taken on the Beach...

A great place to take the kids and dogs. The Siletz bay area has no big waves, so it's much safer than ocean front beach for those young ones! You can relax and just enjoy watching the kids play in the water or in the sand. Great crabbing area too. Oh, you want the big waves you say? Great, just walk out to the mouth of the bay and you get plenty of big pounding waves for miles!❤️ As a bonus there's a pier, a Moe's restaurant, public bathrooms and a pavilion where you can bbq and enjoy the view. Walking distance to stores, other restaurants, a glass blowing shop, hardware store, gift shops, etc. Park the car and spend the day exploring, Taft is the whole deal all...

Easy to park, not terribly crowded and an area for kids to play in where the water is shallow and there's no waves. Beautiful walk in through drift wood, and lots of families bbqing. We walked along the waters edge and found sand shrimp, jelly fish and lots of clams. The water was pretty warm where it was shallow and freezing as the water got deep. We also saw some seals swim by so you may not want to go too deep! Nice beach area and not terribly windy probably because of all the hotel's and buildings. I'd definitely go back!

I love coming here. There's a lil board walk/pier you can walk on when high tide is on your over the water at low tide you can go walk under and walk on the sand a ways. There's birds and wild life everywhere sometimes you can see a seal or two lounging across the bay on a sand bank. There's plenty of parking most days. Food and ice cream shops as well as covered areas for BBQ and sitting down relaxing. It's also a great place when the sun is setting to sit on the beach and watch it go down.
