Stopped in opening week, as well as today (Easter). I'll preface this review will be thru the scope of a restaurant manager myself that knows the power of a good review. I forgot Easter was today - nonreligious, yadda yadda - and walked in at 12:15ish to a full lobby. I was greeted warmly and added myself to the wait-list. I hung out in the lobby and watched the hosts do everything perfect. Greeted, communicated with each other, and communicated with guests. One family had hit their wait time and the hosts let them know where exactly they were wait wise, calm and collectedly, letting them know the tables attached to their name was getting up and they just had to wipe things down.
I was naive and thought bar seating was in wait-list rotation until I asked. I appreciate the hosts letting me know that it was first come first serve up there. (Exactly where I wanted to sit anyways, win win.)
Bartenders greeted me swiftly, in between their duties, even by my name too as my first visit I chit chatted with the exact same bartenders. I was smart to decide what I wanted to eat while I was waiting, they threw my order in and I got it shortly after. Delicious, the cinnamon roll was great and could be served with no syrup but that's just me. The coffee is strong too, gotta love that and ordering a cup of coffee gets you a whole pot (could be wrong, I ordered a pot just in case).
I watched staff communicate, joke, clean as they went, and helped each other. The managers on duty helped their staff with every step of the service without doing the job for them nor repremanding them for not getting to certain things.
Early Bird is a tad expensive but I'll gladly pay whatever to keep a place like this going. If I get to help 25+ employees stay employed, the food coming out hot, the coffee brewing, and the service as spectacular as it has been, I will gladly hand over my credit card. Their slogan is absolutely right, this was...
Read moreThis place for a Wednesday (Federal/ State Holiday) was absolutely busy and packed!!
Thankfully, the size of the building is deceiving, and we were able to be seated immediately for a table of (4) four. Once the server was available, I asked for 4 waters and to look over the menus until my friends arrived.
The prices were a bit higher than I expected, but I think everything this day and age is higher. The other neat part of this restaurant (which I didn't catch a picture of) was that they had a bar, and quirky drink options available throughout the day, hours on the menus said 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 a.m. 🤔🤷🏼♀️
The only reason I am not giving it a full five ⭐️ stars is simply the water (last photo)... The serendipitous part of the glasses of water they hardly had any ice, and I didn't think anything of it.. by the time I realized and was about to take a drink, I noticed these two floating objects within my glass. It could have been an accidental pepper spill [NOT from me] or heavens for bid fruit flies 🤮 or mold or particles from the ice despenser, especially if it was almost empty. 🤔 When I worked in kitchens, the ice makers were often the most forgot about location for cleanliness and sanitization and the nozzles on fountain machines.
Anyhow, the food was actually rather delicious. Each of the kids took some food home as the portions were rather decent for tweens. Check out the photos from the things we ordered.
Avocado Toast, Churro Waffles 🧇 with scrambled eggs 🥚 and bacon 🥓 (breakfast sides), Toaster Strudles, bowl of fruit (and breakfast sides). Check out the photos of the presentation.
Crowded place, floors were extra sticky and could use a little down time for deep cleaning. Also, check on your ice maker or...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to eat breakfast last weekend. We were seated pretty quickly however they seated us in their extended/outdoor area where the windows were all shut, it felt humid and smelled that way too. The menus were absolutely filthy, I did not want to touch it as my menu was full of drink stains, food stains and who knows what else. I understand that every menu can't be super clean but I feel that every menu should at least be wiped down after every use. We ordered an appetizer and food. Our food got to us before the appetizer did and it seemed that our server had forgotten about it until we asked. She kept repeatedly apologizing however we were both irritated by this time. Because I was irritated and my appetite was gone, I ordered some PB&J pancakes as I didn't want to spend much money considering how I was feeling. They were drenched in some jelly sauce that was not good, probably would be better off using regular jelly. My boyfriend had ordered a Coke and they brought out a can of Coke and a glass with ice. Can you at least pour it so it doesn't feel like he overpaid for a can of Coke that can be bought for less than a dollar at a vending machine? Our server never offered to refill our drinks either. Overall, I feel that the whole experience turned me away from coming back. It's seriously overpriced and I don't mind when the food and service is good but the price was definitely...
