SARO Cider — Restaurant in Lincoln

Friendly, causally fancy, and yummy!

Went on opening weekend - while so many places use an opening weekend to “work through the kinks” it was the opposite for Saro Cider. The entire place was immaculate. Staff was so friendly - had a chance to talk with Paige and you can tell this place means something more than a profit.

The Vibe: So, it is hipster-ish. You can’t deny the decor and vibe. They have a custom bike sitting in the shop. There’s subway tile. Wood shelves. Merch was ready and available. It is one of several places in the area that’s getting a full makeover and catering to a new audience that doesn’t fit the neighborhood... yet. You get the whiff of gentrification going on in the area.

The Cider: good start, excited to see where it goes. Sampled about 6-8 ciders and drinks. Main completion IMO will be Glacial Till, the only other local place who are now consistently on tap at local bars and canning more and more. Saro doesn’t seem poised to take on Glacial Tills bold but crowd pleasing options like Hibiscus Ginger cider, but come next summer if they step it up there could be some friendly rivalry. Their current ciders small offer subtle differences between each option on the menu, but nothing revelatory.

Be aware of parking. Again, went opening night. But this place is on a corner with no lot of its own, no nearby parking structure, and even if it weren’t opening night, with other venues in the area I would say always expect parking to be questionable during prime hours.

Overall I anticipate being back many times, I will walk or bike down, and am excited to see how the ciders...

First off, their ciders are exceptionally crafted—light, crisp, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The cocktails were creative, flavorful, and expertly crafted.

The charcuterie board was the perfect pairing for the ciders and all of their food is gluten free.

Also, the vibe at SARO is awesome. They offer live music, and the trivia nights throughout the week. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making the experience even...

Went here for my first time with friends. The atmosphere is a 20/10. One foot into the building, you will be blown away with how the building was built. It's beautiful. The decorations, the kegs in the back, outdoor seating with lights. It fantastic. Service is top-notch. The gentleman who helped I and my friends was skilled and friendly. Drinks are good, some drinks are not up to my taste, but if you love dry cider, then you won't be disappointed with SARO Cider. Food items wise we got hummus and artichoke dip with crackers and veggies. Might stop by next time to try...
