A lot has changed at The Hub since the pandemic started. Flavor is nearly non existent, quality has deeply declined, portions have shrank, and like everything else, prices have gone up. Love the concept of this place and the physical space. But man oh man, it’s become another cog in the wheel of pathetic mediocrity. The tzatziki sauce is not much more than plain watery yogurt, the pork belly was under seasoned and not crisp, the shoots were old, the quinoa tabouli was just quinoa, why put rice in it when there is already a grain? The cucumbers were decent, way too many pungent Greek olives, not sure how they managed to make pickled cabbage flavorless but they passed that challenge with flying colors. I think there was a total of a half teaspoon of feta and there wasn’t enough salt in the shaker to make the flavors bloom. My company was not impressed by their meal either, overcooked tortilla. Dry chicken. Flavor was better than the bowl but generally average at best. Drinks were forgotten. Had to ask for them and then was given attitude like it was our fault they didn’t come out. Lots of snotty side glances from the short haired girl putting glasses away from behind the bar. Maybe she thinks people can’t read her body and facial language. Try again. You’re speaking loud and clear.
So our drinks after we got the run around were sitting on the counter getting cold. They had to remake them. More $ amd resources down the drain. Food came out and the kid we asked about the drinks went back inside and didn’t even ask where our drinks were. We saw him playing with an RC car a few minutes later outside on the trail. Bahaha When serving us, he slammed the food down on the table and pushed the bowls over quickly knocking the salt and pepper and sauce bottles over. This place is a perfect example of the lazy, don’t care, can’t be bothered, it’s your fault not mine attitude of many of the current food service workers found at mid to high quality food establishments.
Just one more comment-, lemon, lime, orange, zest of any of the three, onions of any sort, soy/tamari, coconut aminos, vinegar, sesame oil, parsley, garlic, onions, spices-all pretty inexpensive additions for the amount of flavor and elevation they bring to a meal. And for Pete’s sake, use some salt when...
Read moreHands down the worst restaurant experience I have had since I started eating plant based 3 years ago. I have gone to steak houses and been accommodated. I have ordered burgers without the meat. Omlettes without eggs. Sometimes it takes creativity to be able to go out with groups and still eat plant based. I have never had a restaurant not try and be helpful and do whatever, I just may have had to pay a lot. Then we have this place. I start off stating that this will sound weird. I ask if on the Huevos Rancheros, I can sub the eggs for potatoes, understanding they may not let it be a substitution, which would be understandable. The person taking my order says he doesn't think the chef will let me take the eggs off. That it is the main cost of the dish, locally sourced eggs. He tells me, "well huevos means eggs"...I am kind of shocked, and I say you mean I can't even order it without eggs, and add a side of potatoes? I point out that he just said I am taking most of their cost away, and I am willing to pay up for that. He says he will check with the chef, and the chef says no, it is an integral part of the dish and he won't remove them. I state that I am not ordering anything then. My mother-in-law then steps up to order and says that she was nervous to question now about kale, and the clerk makes a snide remark asking if she wanted to remove the kale from the kale salad? The manager did refund the 4 people who were in my party who had already ordered. Strange a business would lose money on food already being prepared rather than put the chefs ego aside and accommodate their customer. Oh well, had a much cheaper breakfast down the road, with staff that was helpful, friendly and kind rather than rude...

Came for Saturday brunch during prime brunch hours - 11:30-12:30. Expect to wait in line for at least 10 minutes to order. Seating is limited and I felt lucky to snag a table after I ordered.
Staff was crazy friendly when ordering - answered all our questions with a positive, fun attitude!
Food was delicious and exceeded my expectations. I think people used to HUGE portions may balk at first but when they eat realize it’s more then plenty. I had a hard time choosing one dish from the menu since so many looked good - great excuse to go back!!
Note: this place is solo diner friendly!! They have stools and counter or family dining set ups so you could comfortably come here without the “taking up a table of four for one” paranoia.
I did note that we sat with a dirty table for a bit and one older staff member saw but didn’t come to help. They were behind the bar area and didn’t seem burdened - but maybe they felt it was beneath them to clean and provide customers with service? The younger staff eventually made it over and were fabulous, but it’s disappointing when any staff sees a need and doesn’t address it. IDC if you’re the owner, if I can see you, consider yourself front of house and chip in. The rest of the staff were SO busy being amazing, like, level up!
All in it’s a great spot and I can’t...
