A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Litchfield

Yes, I arrived at 8:26 PM and they close at 9 PM, but there was still time to order and eat before 9PM....right?

Anyway, went and splurged and even decided to order and eat inside, telling them I would be done by 9 PM.

Ordered a $12.99 shrimp dinner, added some clam strips, and chose french fries and Cole flaw as my sides. And as I was very thirsty, I added an A&W Root Beer in a size small.

Why? Well it was the cheapest but they were charging nearly $3 for a small basically a fountain soda that Circle K sells one three or four times as large for $1.10 or so!!!

Ridiculous!!

They they brought out most of my meal - see the attached picture. He had to go back as he forgot the Cole slaw. And when I asked about any hush puppy's, he had to refer to the pictures to see that they were not included. In other words, he had little knowledge of what they offer. And while not discourteous, I just don't think he was happy I came inside to order and eat...

Now look at the picture. You should be thinking what small portions...right?

You ain't a kidding. Most everything tasted and felt reheated as even the fries were terrible. And when I asked for Mayo, I was flat out told they don't carry that...what?

And as for the clams...

Well they weren't terrible but they also were not good. Most, or at least a third of what I was served were nothing but remnants and very small, tasteless, except for being, shall we say crispy.

Now look at the Cole slaw. Not a full container by any standards but it wasn't terrible once I added several sweetener packets BUT I PAID MORE THAN $21 for this dinner that I could have duplicated with a more tasty and filling TV dinner or two for half the price.

The shrimp were okay but not a size I expected. I would have done better buying a shrimp ring at the nearby Walmart !

On my way to Michigan from Missouri when I stopped by this small town A&W. Expecting speedy quality service, I was incredibly disappointed by the manager degrading what seemed to be a frantic and well mannerd employee. After placing my order which compared to other establishments was tremendously over priced, I proceeded to watch my order be placed on the heat lamp. After watching the manager continue to CRUCIFY this poor girl, and seeing my order just sitting there I knew something was wrong this manager. Also a problem stemming from the management was the incredible filth that plagued the restaurant. The floor was both greasy and slipper, everything in the restaurant was covered in grease. DISGUSTING! After finally receiving my order with no help from incompetent and frankly crabby manager, I received my order. All I can say is WOW. The hygenine of the restaurant really comes to play in the food. I understand now, why the walls, floor, and cabinets contain so much grease. As much as the service staff was so helpful, kind, and polite, I have to give such a poor review. I hope that the A&W corporation will see this review and terminat the current manager for her disregard for basic human dignity toward her subordinates. This place is a toxic environment, both emotionally and health wise. I'm very disappointed and hope others will not continue to support this franchise in Litchfield...

went as part of a college trip, myself and another ordered food and root beer floats. his food came pretty fast, mine came about half an hour later, both were good food. however, after waiting another half an hour, we heard from the back thay they had to wait for someone to being more root beer, yet all they told us was that they could make them with diet root beer or we could wait. despite the dining room fountain havingg plenty of root beer, we eventually had to leave as we were out of time and were on a scheduled trip, no offers for a refund or at the very least to give us the cups to get drinks or make the...
