We recently stopped by Kabab To Go, a small takeout-style restaurant situated near the border of Little Elm and Frisco. Although it’s designed primarily for takeout, there is limited seating available for those who wish to dine in. It’s part of a newer complex that includes Inda Bazaar, Desi District, and a handful of other South Asian grocery and food options.
We happened to be in the mood for kabobs late at night and found this place through a quick Google search while we were around Stonebrook Parkway—it was about a 15-minute drive from there. When we arrived, there were only two other customers finishing up their meals, so we didn’t have to wait at all, which was nice.
We ordered:
• Two Chicken Kabob plates • One Salmon Fish Kabob plate • One Single Chicken Kabob with rice • Chickpeas and spinach as our side options
Each plate was priced at $10.99, but the portion sizes were on the smaller side.
Food experience: The rice was cooked well and had a comforting flavor, but the chicken kabobs were noticeably dry, which took away from the overall enjoyment. I added chickpeas to my plate, and they were actually quite delicious—seasoned just right and full of flavor. My husband opted for the spinach as a side, which he felt was decent but not particularly memorable.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the salmon kabob. We were genuinely excited for it, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to our expectations. It tasted plain, as if it had come straight off the grill without any seasoning. There was no flavor profile or spice to it, which made it feel unfinished or rushed. Maybe it was an off night, but it definitely lacked the bold flavors we were hoping for.
Overall: Kabab To Go is a convenient option if you’re craving kabobs late at night and happen to be in the area. It’s located in a promising new plaza with several Desi businesses, which adds to its accessibility. However, the food was hit or miss—some sides were flavorful, but the protein (especially the chicken and salmon) fell short. Considering the portion size and overall experience, we’re not sure if it’s a place we’d go out of our way to revisit.
That said, it might be worth giving it another chance during busier hours when the kitchen is more in flow—but next time, we’d definitely try different menu items or ask for...
Read moreI visited the location today. My family love the Irving location, but found this location near my job. While placing my order the girl at the front counter was irritated that I requested to have things on the side, she cut me off saying she will put everything on the side. I spoke with the manager about her tone, no apology from him. I place the order with the manager finally. You can assume everyone wants their food prepared the same way. Lesson learned I will never spend my money at this location and be treated so rude with the amount of money I spent today. Lastly, being overcharged for small portion of food not worth it. After all the poor service the manager stated I placed one piece of extra chicken on your plate. I would've appreciated an apology from you sir. I can afford the food. I paid for pita bread, they never cooked it. I had to wait for him to cook it, which he did fast, so I hope it's done correct. Just to note for this business I will never come back to spend my money here. In my view, It appears this location doesnt respect people of color business Always remember the customers...
