I would’ve given this place a five star rating for its overall ambience, location and food. However, the service we got was 3 stars so I’m cutting one from the overall rating. Their cappuccino and coffee is very average, you can probably make it better at home because it’s definitely not worth the $5 price. Half the cup I got was foam so I had like maybe 3 sips worth of cappuccino. We also tried a couple other items. One was their Chicken and Waffles. The taste of the chicken was very flavorful but it was not fresh and crispy and the quantity was so low (3 tiny pieces). The waffle was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Pro-tip if you like your food a little spicy: I mixed the maple syrup with the Cholula sauce and dipped my chicken and waffles in there before eating. Heaven in every bite! Next were the pancakes, really nice and fluffy. The Western Burger was spot on for a brunch meal. Nice juicy beef and delicious flavors overall. Fries were too salty and slightly soggy. The Veggie Omelette was probably one of the best I’ve had anywhere! Absolutely delicious. However, the bread and has browns we got were not that great. Hash browns were not crispy and slightly undercooked. The bread was over toasted and the quantity was much lower than other places offer. The orange juice was super fresh and tasty! Do try that. The breakfast burrito was fantastic. We asked to get everything without Bacon or any meat but the server (Danny) seemed like he was in a rush to take our order every time he came to the table he left frantically. I specifically told him to make sure no bacon/meat is on any of our dishes. Somehow I still got the beans soup with the burrito with bacon and ham pieces floating inside. This is not tolerable for me. When brought to the management’s attention they took the burrito off my bill but no one came out to check on us or apologize other than the server. That’s why I felt they totally fell short of the service, given that it’s a brand new restaurant. The server also asked me my ethnicity towards the end, not sure why that was necessary. I’m hoping it was just for the heck of conversation and I answered but realized later that it was a strange question. Overall I found the food to be over priced compared to other brunch spots like First Watch or Eggsellent Cafe. I think I might still go back for the food mainly but for me the service and ambience is just as important when I go out to eat so hoping their service...
Read moreThe spot has been burned for me. So sad, had high hopes after the first experience but the second time around was devastating. If it wasn't one thing it was another. HYGIENE control is super important, unfortunately it was sorely lacking in our second visit - not more than a week later. That's how good it was first time around. Minus the noise and loud atmosphere, their dish skillets were delicious. BUT my stomach couldn't take seeing so many red flags. First I found a little visitor (bug) in my glass of water, then I we noticed our coffee cups had lipstick residue and debris in them. Got them switched out, no biggie. We received our dishes, and as I'm enjoying my meal I noticed my fruit bowl looked like it had been sitting in the fridge opened for more than a few hours but i ate a few and sadly my taste buds confirmed that weird fridge flavor... Then the meat was cooked so well done it was tough, but whatever i continued to try to enjoy what was so promising last week. But as i ate I found a hair in my food....I had to get that switched out too.... As I see my partner enjoy their meal mine takes time and comes back naturally..... I'm eating trying to finish breakfast in a positive light. Our meals were being covered after so many issues. But my god didn't want me to stick around I guess because I found a tiny piece of plastic and an eye lash. I couldn't believe it. I left. Didn't eat more than the toast and half of a very delicious waffle shared with my partner. But after I found another foreign object in my food, I...
Read moreI could NOT be more excited about having a great brunch place not far from me! Poached Brunch House is all of the things. Delicious, great service and adorable!!
My friend and I decided on an impromptu brunch today and decided to give Poached Brunch House a try. It is located in a shopping center in Little Elm tucked off the main road near Flix Brewhouse.
We went about 11:00 and were seated right away. There are booths and tables throughout, really cute decor. I liked the gallery wall, beautiful textured wavy porcelain backsplash in the cafe area, and the ceiling fixture. Warm colors, very cozy.
The menu was ample and had a variety of options available, from breakfast to lunch options. Pretty moderately priced. We opted for a mimosa, I went with a traditional one and my friend did the poinsettia punch, it was rimmed in sugar and served with berries, she loved it. The orange juice is fresh-squeezed and delish.
I ordered the man-eater omelet since I am watching my carb intake and substituted food instead of biscuits or pancakes. My friend ordered the migas and pancakes. She loved it and did a little dance because it was so yummy. I asked for bell pepper and cilantro to be added to mine, was very tasty and had a beautiful presentation.
Our server was very friendly and was on top of getting us everything that we needed and was very friendly.
Great brunch experience! I highly recommend Poached Brunch...
