Palazzone Pastry Lab — Restaurant in Little Falls

It really kills me to write this review because I absolutely have always loved the desserts of this business but I recently ordered a $220 sheet cake for a 100 person party for my daughter's baptism. On the day of the party, I sent my father to pick up the cake. The ladies at the counter would not give him a cake without the paper that we had filled out on the day that we ordered the cake. I have a five month old daughter and a lot going on so I did not hold onto this piece of paper. I was in the middle of setting up the party when I received the phone call they were arguing with me and would not give my father the cake I told him the name on the cake, which is a very unique name and also provided the proof of payment. This was still not enough. I was in tears and it ruined such a perfect day I had massive anxiety the rest of the day, and it totally threw off the entire energy of my daughter's baptism, leaving us with a terrible taste in our mouth of this business. Unfortunately, I will say that we will not be coming back to order for parties again as this truly was just so upsetting. The two women were very nasty on the phone stating that they could lose their job over giving us this cake I highly doubt that there was anyone else that day with a sheet cake that would feed 100 people that said God bless on it and also said my daughter's name it was an unnecessary form of stress. The cake however tasted good, which is why I've decided to give two stars instead of one, but the cake could've been the best thing I've tasted in the entire world, and I will still not return due to the horrible...

I ordered two Panettones, the description on their website shows them to be made without emulsifiers, preservatives, etc. (Ingredients: Rice flour, potato starch, corn starch, milk, butter, egg yolk, Brewer’s yeast, candied orange peels from Calabria, honey, raisins, salt, natural flavor) ..... far from the truth. This is blatant misrepresentation to not list ALL the ingredients.

I would like to respond to the gaslighting response from this establishment: Ethical advertising is the practice of creating and promoting marketing content that is honest, transparent, respectful to its audience. It prioritizes the well-being and interests of consumers. You cannot cherry-pick the clean ingredients in your descriptions and edit out the bad ingredients. Give me a break and then you want to justify it with a gaslighting statement that you don't have any obligation to be truthful in your descriptions and list all the ingredients so consumers can make an informed decision. There was a reason you only listed the clean ingredients and it was to deceive!

The FTC looks especially closely at advertising claims that can affect consumers’ health or their pocketbooks – claims about food, over-the-counter drugs, dietary supplements, alcohol,...

I normally go to Calandras for my pastries, but I decided to give Palazzones a try. Since Palazzones is not far my job I was able to visit on my lunch hour. Upon entering my coworker and I were met with long stares from two ladies who were standing behind the counter.There were also two customers sitting at a table who also stared at us. Though, we felt uncomfortable, we decided to place an order because we did not have time to travel elsewhere since we were pressed for time. We decided on an assortment of pastries - which were over priced and very small. The woman who assisted us seemed annoyed that I was taking time to make my selections - mind you - there was no one else waiting to be serviced. We felt rushed. Having surveyed the area and witnessing the clientele since Palazzones has open, I know that very few, if any, African-Americans frequent this business. This explains the stares we endured. This is the first and last time that I or my coworker will visit this business. I will not refer anyone to this place. I will continue to give Calandras my business.
