Wayback Burgers — Restaurant in Little Ferry

2025 Thought about trying this place again, but disappointed by the owner's bland response to our detailed review so no we'll be trying another place today.

We came in to try this place because we had a coupon for a free Shake and we're already on our way to dinner. we found that the cashier must have been on her first day because she can't even handle us telling her both flavors of shakes and as set of their O-Rings without telling us to wait. It didn't seem like she was ready to work a cash register at all. So we had to wait while she got help ringing up the coupon from a co-worker. She was definitely flustered! so we waited for her to ring up the shakes but then needed to add the o-rings because she had told us to wait. This again seem like a big deal to her. while some of this could be understood, it's always a good idea for cashier to ask you would you like fries with that or is there anything else before just ringing up 2 items. That's that said our strawberry shake was good although I wouldn't pay $5 for it by far, and the chocolate banana shake tasted more like an eggnog then any banana in it at all. The onion rings were fairly good, but the fries while hot lacked any crispiness to them at all. Overall, compared all the burger places we've been in, and it's a lot, we probably won't be coming back to this to this location as it doesn't compare...

Nice retro burger fast food restaurant. The burgers are very yummy. The buns are on slightly better than the new 2023 Red Robin buns (which I hate).. the fries are good and I rate them above Wendy's, and around as good as Burger King fries.

The price is perfect at roughly $9 for a plain burger and fries, no drink. So no bidenflation here, which is awesome.

Employees are super friendly.

The service however was extremely slow.. roughly 10 mins to take my order and then another 15 mins to make my order due to 5 online orders that cut in front of me, an actual physical customer in the building.. the only physical customer in the building on the line... But those online app customers kept cutting in front of me. I hope someday one of these restaurant chains will ban these line cutting online food services (Uber eats, etc) and force these lazy people to get out of their pajamas, get dressed and drive down to a restaurant and order food in person like a normal human and maybe they will be surprised at how fresh and hot their food is in person compared with the cold fries, cold burgers and melted ice in drinks when they have to wait for an Uber eats driver to bring the food to them.

Anyway, this is a nice location with plenty of tables to sit at and some stools at the front as well. Plenty of parking and...

Was really excited to try this place but definitely wont be going back. Maybe 2 orders were waiting ahead of us when we arrived. A very nice lady working the register got our order, 3 burgers, 3 shakes - chocolate banana - mocha - coffee, 3 orders of fries to go. While we were ordering, about 3 more customers come in. Only one guy was working the grill was busting his ass to make everything, and I give him credit he was really trying. An older gentleman came out to help him and was really more of a hindrance than a help. Took over 40 minutes to get our food order. Finally when the older gentleman handed it to me he told me I was good to go and I'm asking him where my shakes are at this point when the lady behind the register makes them real fast for us. Get home to eat our food, burgers are super greasy not a lot of toppings, and probably in the rush to make are forgotten shakes they must have not wiped off the blades because every single Shake tasted the same. Giving them 2 Stars simply for the guy behind the grill who was running around like a madman and I give him props for working his butt off and the awesome lady working the register who had a great personality if it wasn't for them they be...
