My girls and I visited this location on yesterday (9-13-2015), we normally go to the University location. We had some stores in the Promenade that we were going to ,therefore we opted for this location instead. HUGE mistake!! When we came in the hostess was OK, not the friendliest, but ok. We proceeded to tell her we preferred an outdoor seat, she just started talking to someone else about tables available throughout the restaurant. She takes us out side and she attempted to seat us at a table for two, right beside a another couple already seated (the tables only had walking distance between them ), she went to add an additional chair for my youngest daughter. There were 3 other tables that seated 4 available. A couple was leaving from a table that seated 4, so I asked if we could move to another table, she said sure and seated us at the dirty table that couple had just gotten up from. I asked if she or someone could wipe off the table and she walked inside. So shortly after that the waiter came up and proceeded to take our drink order, I explained to him that i'd asked the hostess if someone would clean the table. He kind of brushed it off and said Ok, let me get your drink order. We ordered sweet teas, he came back with a dirty towel and barely wiped the table and said that's probably the best that could be done (reason #2 we should have left.) The "sweet teas" were unsweetened teas, my daughter said mom you are not going to like this so I tasted it and true enough it was unsweetened. When the waiter returned, I told him, I think these are unsweetened he said ok. I said I'm not trying to be difficult, he said oh no problem. He brought back drinks for all of us and I tasted it, it was a tad bit better, so I just went along with it. When he returned he said, was that better I said yes it was, he then told me good, I added sweetener (he added sweetener to our drinks, Wow). He took our orders and the food came out and it was OK, not hot as I expected but ok. We ate the food and once I was done, I requested a Dr. Pepper and he said would you like it to go and I'll bring the check. I said ok that's fine. When he returns he said " this is going to be the Best dr. Pepper ever", I said great. Paid for the food, when I looked at the drink he'd brought me, there was a straw already in it that was wet at the top and clearly someone had already drank out of it. My youngest daughter was finishing up her burger as I sat there in disbelief. We were there for about 5 minutes waiting on her to finish her burger when the manager walked up and asked how was everything, I said it was ok. She asked what made it just ok. I told her I didn't want to talk about it, at this point I just want to leave. She stated that as the manager that concerned her and she needed to know in order to improve the next experience. I said ok and I explained to her what happened. She said, we'll you deserve a clean table... then I told her about the drink, she agreed that they shouldn't come with the straw already in it and that it appear used and offered to replace it. I said no thanks, she then offer my daughters milk shakes on the house. They were excited about it, I agreed. We waited for an additional 5 minutes - they hadn't made it so we left. I WILL NOT ever go back to this location. It was a huge waste of 36.00 on mediocre burgers and poor service. I've posted to Facebook, twitter and told everyone I could think of about my experience. When this place first open it was great, but it's...

I visited Big Orange last week and had a HORRIBLE experience. My mom and I went in to have a nice lunch together. We told the hostess that we would need to be seated for 2 people. She told us that it would be a 10 minute wait. We sat down at the hostesses stand to wait our turn to be seated. A white couple came in after we did and asked for a table for two. The hostess asked them if they would mind sitting at a high table. The couple said no, and they were seated immediately. As we continued to wait for our table, I asked the hostess why the white couple had been seated before us even though we were there before they were. The hostess was very rude, and she said that she didn't think we would want the other table and our table would be ready in a few minutes. I asked the hostess how she would know that we didn't want the table if she didn't ask us. We just wanted a table to sit and eat, it didn't matter which one. The hostess ignored my question and said that our table would be ready in a little while. I then asked to speak with the manager. The hostess again ignored me and my mother and proceeded to sign in another customer and take them to their seats. This was the second group of people that came after us that was seated before us. I again asked to speak with the manager. The hostess said that they were pretty busy and it would be a while before a manager could come out. We told the hostess that we would wait. After waiting several more minutes a manger finally came up. We told the manager what happened, and he was unapologetic about anything that had happened. He said that the hostess "must not have been thinking clearly." We told him that it was not our fault that they had hired a hostess that was rude and couldn't think clearly. The manager was very nonchalant about the situation, and he said that he wasn't sure what we wanted him to do. We told him that we wanted to be treated fairly and with respect, just like the rest of their customers at the restaurant. The manager walked off from us and brought back the restaurant owner. The restaurant owner's attitude was very similar to that of the manger's. He would not apologize for the way we had been treated or even acknowledge that they had done anything wrong. We asked for the address or phone number for the Regional manger, so that we could write a letter or call to let them know about our experience at the restaurant. The owner refused to give us any contact information, and he said that "he was the owner and it didn't get any higher than him." He then said that there wasn't anything else that he could do for us and he walked away from us while we were still talking. Not only were these people rude to my mom and I, they also refused to give us the information to let anyone know about our experience at their restaurant. The owner lied to us because there is a regional manager for this restaurant. He just didn't want anyone else to know about the poor, prejudice service that they provided to us. I will never visit this restaurant again, and neither will anyone...

As I drive up to the outdoor shopping mall, with generic chain stores and restaurants I was not expecting much. I walk inside, and am even less encouraged. Seems sterile, and generic. The place was packed and loud. Though several seats available at the bar, with a few dinning areas and a patio. The light fixtures, bar stools, and tables all look like they were bought at Pier One. A few TV's turned to sports, that are surprisingly unobtrusive. Anyway, getting past that I take a seat at the bar. They hand me a small piece of paper with the beer selection. 8 taps, 7 are beer and one is a wine. I really like the small selection. Schlafly Coffee Stout, Prairie Ale, Marshall Pavillion Pilsner, and St. Bernardus being the big hitters when I visited. The taps always rotate, with clean lines, correct temps and glassware. A slightly more extensive bottle selection. A nice cocktail spot as well. Some classic standbys are great, like the Old Fashion and Sazarac. They do house bourbon barrel aged cocktails on occasion. I did not get to try any of those, but something I need to look for when available. Service is spot on. The bartenders are all on top of everything. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The girl behind the bar is a sweetheart. Food is excellent, and comes out quick, hot and fresh. Mostly burgers, but really well made. The burgers come out slightly more than medium. Still really juicy and flavorful. Lots of different options to choose as well. I had the Hickory Smoke. A really well balanced burger with sharp cheddar, BBQ sauce, fried onion strings. Really tasty, and I have had other burgers similar that turn out to be a mess. I was not a huge fan of the fries, but the house cut chips are excellent as are some pimento cheese apps. They are not just a burgers and beer spot. Really good cocktails, and even shakes. A good place to stop for lunch, even if you can't have an alcoholic drink at that time. A place comfy enough for families, high school kids after school, or people that want a burger and a drink. I am glad I did not judge this book by its generic cover cause I would have missed out on...

Visited Big Orange in the Promenade location. Since we had did some shopping in the surrounding shops and it was lunchtime, we decided to try this restaurant. Nicely decorated environment and as soon as you enter you are treated with wonderful smells. We were told it was about a 30 minute wait, but since we were able to wait inside out of the heat, it was fine. We received a text regarding our wait and about 15 minutes later we were told our seat was ready. The menu had a large variety of burgers with multiple toppings. Everything from your classic toppings of lettuce and tomato to special toppings like a avocado or spicy pimento cheese. They also have salads, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, and a wide variety of milkshakes. We ordered the classic burger. It comes with white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and mayo. Toppings come on the side. The burger don't come with fries, you have to order separately. That was a little disappointing since the burger itself was $8. So really if you are getting a classic burger(all other burgers are pricier), fries, and drink, you will spend $14. For me and my two kids it was $44. We all had the classic burger, they had soft drinks, I had water, and I order two basket of fries that we shared. If my husband would've been with us it would've been at least $60. Sorry that is a lot for just burger and fries for a family.... Now, as far as the food goes, it was good. Burger was big and juicy, the fries was crispy and seasoned. It came with a Bob sauce that was really good. It will not be a "go to" spot for my family for burgers and fries due to the price, but I can say it was tasty.

This was a mixed experience, the restaurant itself a study in odd contrasts. It's expensive, like fine dining expensive, but the dining area is small, cramped and uncomfortable. We didn't have to wait long. We watched the hostess brush all the crumbs off our table and purposefully onto the floor to get it ready for us. Dirty floors? Check. When we sat down, we were none too thrilled to find the table was sticky. We asked the server if he could wipe it down, which he did grudgingly and accomplished nothing, so we got to eat our meal at a gross-feeling table. The service did improve from there, and for the rest of the review, it's all prices and food. First, prices. Their whole menu is a la carte, meaning when you pay $15 for your burger, that's all you get. No fries, unless you pay about $6 more. They said one order of fries is enough for two people, but that's a stretch, and the fries are oddly tough and chewy, like no other fry I've had before and not in a good way. But that $15 burger is pretty big right? No, it's pretty small. Apparently likely to be overcooked, too. But at that price, the ingredients are all present and high quality? Well no, the fig jam made it onto maybe a quarter of the bun, the pecorino cheese was so sparse you wouldn't know it was there unless it said so on the menu, and truffle flavor was probably why the arugula was oily, but didn't add much flavor. Did it taste good? It was alright. I will admit that. Was it worth it? A hard no. Would I go back? Probably not.
