Listen to this person if you've never listened before. Do not stay here at this hotel; the staff is very aggressive and rude. The manager, Jennie Phillips, is the most disrespectful to black women, especially. She has that entitlement that she's in control . I made a complaint about how I was treated by another employee who's also very nasty woman. As an African American woman she must have felt good threatening me after she threatened to put me out of the hotel. Keep in mind that I never raised my voice; I simply addressed how disrespectful the manager was and that the manager was to come knock on my door with aggression. Yelling, come down, and put a card on file. While I'm next door to neighbors, I already made them aware that I was coming down because I was booking another night. Her behavior isn't permitted anywhere where you would think she had no integrity or just simply no home training. I am a guess, and to be so disrespectful, oh yeah, the hold on your card will be charged $100 for incidentals. I was told this is new, which is ridiculous. Both the employees were nasty, and the manager was even worse. loft hotel should think of hiring another manager. Jennie Phillips isn't the kind of person who is used to communicating with someone who holds her accountable. She threw my new hotel key when attempting to hand it to me. I told her you surely don't think I'm picking it up off the floor. She reached to pick it up, which made her even angry. She then threatened to have me removed from the property. I never cursed her or raised my voice one time, but I did record the whole conversation, even the employee beating down my door. I had already paid for another night; all I asked was to give me a moment. I was sick, and that wasn't enough. The employee tried to beat down my door, yelling so loudly that my neighbors easily heard her harassing me to come out with another card on file because I was extended to one more day. This is my last time staying at this hotel, and the unprofessionalism is top-tier. If you can book at another hotel, please reconsider. The staff is very respectful. This has been the worst experience ever. Jennie is very nasty and aggressive, along with the employee on 03/12/24 who beat down my door as a guest. This is not the last of this. I will be emailing their boss and making sure other black women know how Jennie Phillips was so comfortable talking to me, like I was scum off the street. She's very tacky, has no professionalism at all, and throws hotel keys at guests just because they can't control their emotions. She shouldn't have the privilege of being a manager not even at McDonald's they even have better service her stance was very nasty and aggressive. When talking about my points for Bonvoy, she made sure that wasn't going to happen again. This vile person tried to have me removed from the hotel based on me standing up for my rights. which tells me she has no training in communicating with not just guests but people, period. Do not book here. No tact. Respect human rights. When I'm finished emailing and reaching out about my experience I can only hope they hire another manager with class this was giving me...
Read moreI wanted to like this place since we had stayed here before (not with our dog.) We brought our dog this time, even though it was an extra $50 per day (which honestly makes no sense, as at other chains we sometimes are charged a pet fee for the stay, but never per day.) but I was unaware that would also equate to no housekeeping. We were only staying three days so that wasn't that dire, but it felt wrong to be paying so much for our dog to be on property and also not getting housekeeping and turn down for this privilege. |The rugs in the main lobby under the couches were horridly stained. Like horribly so, it was very off-putting. As much as the skull and crossbones pillows on them, but that at least is a difference of vibe I can overlook. |My dog found another occupant's toy under one of our beds, so I questioned the cleanliness of everything. The shower could really use a curved rod because I had fabric glued to me most of my shower, but I can live with that. There was no microwave in our room like we were told there would be - there is only one in the lobby snack sale area. Not great, but okay.|But it was getting locked out the first morning after walking my dog that I was really unhappy. We exited to the pool area to go to the pet relief area and when ready to come back in, could not get back inside. Swiped the key card and nothing. I tried four other doors in the rear and side with the same result. I asked them at the desk after coming all the way around to the front entrance again to check the key and explain. I was told that all the doors are locked, and I can prop one open but I need to tell them because otherwise they will unprop it and let it close. I just stared at the young man trying to make sense of this and again wondered other than the per day upcharge and a bowl of water in the main entrance - what exactly was dog friendly here? I was locked out without expecting to be.|But where I lost my freaking mind was being charged $36 for the coffees we had in the morning when the coffee was out in the snack area. WITH NO PRICE AND NO SIGN that this is not complimentary coffee. We knew there was no breakfast included but we're seriously charging for the coffee now too? I just can't. Never,...
Read moreIt looks like a college dorm and the rooms are like studio apartments without closets. Odd. But once you’re over this minimalistic style, it’s fine.
I stayed here for a week while visiting family (7/3-7/10). The room was very clean including the window seal! I added my Netflix account to the TV and was good to go. It’s very simple.
I absolutely love the shower. It’s not a tub but a huge standing shower with a very grippy surface. I wish I had it at home.
Across the street are a few shopping options and some food but a lot of the stores are out of business (maybe pandemic related). The movie theater was one that seemed closed due to that. However, it’s the perfect place for a morning walk.
When I was there (until the last day), the 24 hour gym was only open to one person or couple at a time. I was elated by this and used it each morning around 5:30am. Unfortunately on the last day some guest complained and was allowed in. I masked up and completed my workout.
Now the not so good: Cleaning is once every 3 days or so because of COVID. So I had to order or get my own towels with dirty towels stacked on the floor plus garbage. They did clean when I insisted however due to the piling trash.
The staff was very nice - every one of them.
Weekends were busy but the weekdays were like a ghost town. It was never loud where I stayed which was near a corner and far from the elevators. I could hear laughing people in one room from the hallways (which are huge. I don’t know why that space couldn’t be use to make larger rooms with closets).
Anyway, it wasn’t what I’m used to but it wasn’t bad because I was only there to sleep, workout and wash my hair. I was out most of the time.
Don’t expect a meal unless you order out. I was fortunate to have nearby family so food and cooking weren’t an issue.
The rooms have a small fridge and coffee maker. The microwave is in the shared food area in the lobby. The ‘food’ is junk food snacks.
Know what to expect. If you just need a place to sleep, it’s nice. If you are expecting a hotel experience,...
