Local Lime along with Heights Tacos, Lost 40, Zaza Pizza, and Big Orange is another restaurant started by Yellowstone Rocket Concepts. These are some of the better restaurants in Little Rock.
Local Lime is a little pricy with smaller serving sizes, but their food and drinks are delicious. They serve a varieties of salsas in their salsa trio. My favorites are the Caribbean Mango, House Tomato, and Verde Tomatillo. Though their Zucchini salsa is also popular. Their guacamole and cheese dip are also excellent.
Their seasonal fried chicken tacos are my favorite, but I have had most of the tacos they offer and all were delicious, if a bit small.
Most entrees come with sides. My favorites are the chili lime rice and the black beans. Though their dunken pinto beans are also popular.
They have some options for vegetarians, vegans, and those who are gluten free. This includes about half of the salsas they offer and a few entrees like the beans and greens tacos.
As with the other Yellow Rocket Restraunts, the atmosphere and decore are unique. Local Lime has a midcentury modern feel with with white imitation Emeco chairs, tall white leather bar stools, with rustic wood and exposed brick.
Depending on the time, there is often a wait and their is little space in the waiting area. Most people wait outside or shop while they are waiting for a table. Service is normally okay. Drinks and appetizers normally arrive pretty quickly, but sometimes there can be a bit of a wait for food or for refills.
Overall it is one of my favorite Restaurants in Little Rock and I would highly...
Read moreI was staying in Little Rock for the night and came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks.
I waited about 10-15 mins for a single seat at the bar. So keep that in mind. If you’re coming with a group on the weekend plan to wait! (Or make a resy if they accept them?)
The food was so good. I started with the chips & queso. I’m from Texas so I like to think I know good chips & queso when I see it, and let me tell you, this was good stuff. I then had a taco plate with the zucchini taco, grilled chicken taco, and carnitas taco. I got the cilantro lime rice and the pickled veggies as my sides. The cilantro lime rice was the best I’ve ever had an absolute must here. The pickled veggies were decent.
To drink I had their Paloma. I asked the bar tender to make it spicy and she did great. The second time around I asked for a little bit more soda to make it slightly more bubbly and it was the second best spicy Paloma I’ve ever had. So good!
I have a gluten and shellfish allergy so I appreciate that their menu had food allergens clearly marked. All items that I ordered were marked gluten free, or than the grilled chicken taco. We were able to modify that to be made with a corn tortilla instead of a flour tortilla.
The bar seating was very comfortable with padded high-back bar stools. But I will say that looking around the rest of the restaurant, their standard seating was cheap looking plastic chairs that looked like they wouldn’t be the most comfy.
If I ever find myself in Little Rock again, I will definitely be back. The environment was great and the food...
Read moreOur visit was a complete let down. After reading the reviews we drove all the way in from Hot Springs. The way they have it decorated inside it looks very nice and you feel as if you will be treated to a nice dining experience but sadly it stops there. The food is just not as good as expected. It lacked any kind of flavor very plain with no wow factor at all. We both ordered the 3 taco platter however, be very careful . They list one price for 3 tacos beans and rice but you MUST choose all 3 tacos that are the same . NO mix and match . If you get chicken they MUST all be chicken to get the set price. Our server failed to mention that so we ordered 3 different tacos not knowing by doing this we lose the 3 taco set price and now had to pay for each taco, rice and beans separate for each which was over 10.00 more per plate. Its the classic bait and switch but that's ok they must need it more than me. I wouldn't mind so much if the food was good but it just wasn't. The beef in the tacos were tough like shoe leather and the chips that came with the dip seemed stale. I drove over an hour home kicking myself for trying this place. They are not a cheap place to dine and when they also add onto their prices with dishonestly, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth and not just from their food. The best I could say is its very generic food you can get anywhere. Think Taco Cabana quality food here. The service was slow and our drinks were not refilled. We won't be coming back under any circumstances. Way better places to eat good Mexican food at...
