Start itself was on the wrong foot and it never got any better! On a weekday, a party of 6 when the Hibachi tables are pretty much empty, the reception rudely tells me we can only sit at the hibachi table if all 6 of us will order hibachi. We hadn’t even looked at the menus yet of course and one or two of us were not sure if they wanted to order sushi. The way the staff conveyed the message left a sour taste in the mouth. Manager agreed with them. We had people with accessibility needs in the party otherwise we’d have turned back - not because we couldn’t eat hibachi for all - but because of the way they handled that. When I told them so many other places around don’t have arbitrary rules like that, they pretty much tell me well this is the rule here. Wow! Some customer service skills! While the manager agreed we can order sushi on the hibachi table for 1 party “for this once”, We didn’t want any favors from them so we ordered hibachi nevertheless.
This place is definitely pricier than other places and menu was not clear about prices. That’d have been fine if the quality was that much better but the quality was pretty ordinary, at best. Soup is served with waitress thumb in the soup... With poor service I wanted to show my displeasure while tipping however they give me a bill with service charge included. They say party of 6 is large so they include it.... most places would do that for 8 or 10 but ugh! We’d been waiting very patiently for this place to open up. There is so much potential at this location but I really doubt this place would be around for much longer. I don’t see this business succeeding unless they make drastic changes here! They definitely lost a family for good, that likes celebrating with hibachi and sushi more frequently than most! I honestly feel...
Read moreShirley temple, ginger ale was good, but had to order a second beer due to the first one being FLAT. FLAT beers are my pet peeve. But the biggest problem with the drinks was that they gave PLASTIC STRAWS. Those stupid straws are killing my turtles. I am in serious emotional pain because of this. RIP Turtles. In case you can’t tell, I am an environmentalist. The soup was 100% broth, with a couple mushrooms. Too much broth is another one of my pet peeves. Then came the salad. Uh oh. The salad was cold and the dressing was frozen. One person in my party didn’t even get to taste the horror that is the salad, which might have been a blessing. The rice was fine, but the steak and chicken were flavorless. The vegetables could have been better, this is when you should have asked Feng Shui for help. Scallops and shrimp were fine, but could have been better if the chef actually tried. Speaking of the chef, he looked depressed and was as entertaining as watching paint dry and even less entertaining then curling. When it came to throwing the food, it went in my drink and they made me pay for another one. Imagine my bill. 😵. The fires were lackluster and I could have made a better one with a fireproof suit. The service was just ok, but they were not personable. Everywhere I looked, I saw fire extinguishers, another pet peeve, which made me uncomfortable and nervous. It made me think that this place has been burned down before. The decor was decent, but the room was stuffy. Btw I’m claustrophobic. As you see I have many issues, mentally and physically. The fortune cookies didn’t give me good advice and unlucky numbers. In conclusion, SAVE YOURSELF, and don’t go there.

Read moreJust simply one of the best experiences at a Hibachi resteraunt I have ever had. Right down to the salad and ginger dressing. The soup with fresh mushrooms was like the beef ramen broth on steroids, (but in a good, non-salty, very original, fresh way) they had the old flaming scorpion bowls ( I'm sure mentioning liquor that you set on fire really just outed my age...but it was worth it to mention) and our Chef Ken, if we heard him correctly, was just a delight and so talented. He was fun and laughed allot with us even though we came in only an hour and a half before closing ( although now that I think of it, Im wondering if that might be the reason for the good mood? 🤔) either way, we didn't need to know the reason just that he was a hoot and on top of his game for us. The manager, although the opposite of our chef Ken in every way, was attentive, response time for all requests were of record speed ( unless the scorpion bowl was just getting to us and our response time was just slowed 🤔) either way we know there was a heart in that stoic extreme professional as he gave us a take out bowl for our soup to bring home to our son and even gave us extra so he could have more than just our leftover drivel and extra fresh mushrooms. The actual dish we got was the filet, scallops, shrimp, and the rice and vegetables and it was all phenomenal. My husband and I were lovingly holding hands by the end of our dinner and snuggled into eachother smiling and so happy ( again.. scorpion bowl may have played a small role in that as well...🤔) either way, it was a lovely night and you won't be disappointed if you try this place. And might I suggest you also try the Scorpion...
