Very disappointed I'm original from bay area (Oakland) and I hate that I have to go all the way back to get good Mexican food where you can find a taco truck our taqueria on every corner so I searched for a good place and based on review i thought I would give it a try. First the young man must have communicated my order wrong because he told the cook she wanted regular than said super key is I understand Spanish very well. So I ordered the steak nachos "super" and said hold guac and salsa when I received my order the chips were hard and stale no flavor salt etc. and to my pravale when opening my tray the nachos only had cheese and meat what happen to super I know I said no extra i.e guac and salsa but where the retried beans cilantro come on that's a super the meat was average as it was not seasoned well.I suggest that you rethink the word super and go to Oakland and see what's being served out of the taqueria. All in all maybe other items may be good but I'll stay away from the nachos my kids did enjoy the burritos. I'll be stopping off in Oakland after...
Read moreWe finally tried this place out after walking out of Ale house from their belittling treatment. The venue is casual and comforting. They had soccer on the screens and rowdy blue collar soccer fans that were funny to listen to. The Mexican version of UK fans =) There were a couple of families with kids and young professional couples.
The food was great!!! The chips are self served and a good selection of fresh salsa. The radishes are sliced and really fesh. Food was served fast and the gigante quesadilla and super carne asada burrito were large and super tasty. Going to try the ceviche and prawn dishes next time. They have a good selection of canned beer that is of course skewed to Mexican brands. =)
Awesome find, should have tried...
Read moreIf you swing by Livermore and are looking for authenticate Mexican cuisine, you should swing by Los Caporales Taqueria - from their burritos, tacos, quesadillas and more, you won't be disappointed. I've always been a huge fan of supporting local businesses and it's even better when their burritos easily surpass chain burritos from the likes of Chipotle.
The homemade horchata is also incredible - and when you get it without ice, you get more bang for your buck.
While the burritos can be a bit more pricey than chain restaurants, you are certainly getting what you pay for... always remember that!
I bring all my friends who love quality Mexican food here and will...
