We were in Livermore Friday November 8th, to see a play at the Bankhead directed by a friend. I chose Strizzi because it was nearby and the menu looked good. When we arrived, a member of the waitstaff sat us and gave us menus, then completely ignored us. After 20 minutes, they had sat and taken orders for 5 other tables, and didn't even bother to bring us water. By that time, it was too late to find another restaurant and the play lasted until 10, so we really needed to eat. I walked up to the manager, and he pretended he didn't know we hadn't been helped, but instead of instructing the staff to help us, he said he would help us himself (along with doing his duties). It took another 5 minutes to bring us water, and then I insisted he take our order. I told him we were going to a play and needed to eat and leave. He brought us bread, but when the food arrived, they just piled it amongst the no longer needed bread plates instead of removing them, making the table very crowded. No one checked to see if we were okay during our meal, while stopping to chit chat with the other tables, bring them things and make sure they had every thing they needed. It was as if we were vermin. I had to stop a wait person to get our check, and he rushed over to the manager who had been helping us to take care of it. The manager took the price of our drinks off the bill, since we'd 'waited so long for service'----not nearly enough of an apology in my estimation. I paid and we left. My tween and teen granddaughters were dumbfounded. They recognized exactly what was going on, it was so very blatant. It was as if they wanted this Black family...

The worst service we've ever had.. My husband is on crutches and put them underneath the table so they wouldn't be in anybody's way. The waitress tripped over the chair on the other end of the table, and then blamed the crutches for getting in her way. She brought the drinks and slammed them on the table, some of which were wrong. Again, that was totally our fault according to her. She brought us someone else's order, and after we had taken a bite, she took it back.. umm ew. Then she kept reaching right in front of our faces to serve our dishes. Her armpits were nearly an inch away from our face. She kept spilling stuff on us and the table. After all of that we noticed the manager was rudely reprimanding the servers one by one, and ordering them around. It was obvious that he was rude and micromanaging the entire staff. Not really sure whether our waitress was just a terrible server or that the manager had her so shaken up she could barely do her job. Also the place was colder than the weather outside, which was 50 degrees. The guests were in zipped up coats and sweaters. The manager acted as if we were nuts, and condescendingly told us he would do his best to warm it up. Just a super...

Unremarkable food, substandard service. Arrived after waiting 30 minutes at another restaurant that had lost power. Meal cost $100 (with wine) for two (two salads + two entrees + wine). It took 15 minutes to get water. 25 minutes to get 'sorry no bread is left tonight' (after watching three other tables that arrived after us get bread) and 55 minutes to get our entrees. My pork was thinner than thin cut grocery store pork chops-- my wife's red shrimp pasta came with the shell, which she said she's never seen anywhere, not even in NY (and she's well traveled.) Flavor was OK but not exciting or worth the price. Service was substandard-- they dropped my utensils during a food delivery mixup and didn't return them until several minutes after the entree was delivered and only then because we specifically flagged another server down to...

Ambiance: very local and historic vibe. Warning: think twice about wearing favorite shirts here because the smoke just doesn’t go away after two days… They really need to fix something here to air the restaurant better. Food: overall is nice; the meatball sauce is perfect but the meatball texture is not meaty and feels like too much starch is added like those cheap ones. The pasta texture is good and we loved the lasagna and could be better if we can actually taste more of the tomato. Both pasta was the combo set, and the portion is good and we get to try the clam chooser and salad at the same time, which are both good. Service: don’t be surprised, but this is the first common restaurant where I encounter a staff says “pardon my reach” to refill our glass. Thumbs up 👍

Sunday morning and not crowded inside although the patio was pretty full. Extremely distracted, nonchalant service left us constantly having to flag someone down for simple things like drink refills, sweetener for the tea, butter for the waffle, and all of those little things that add up to a semi-annoying experience overall. I have been here before and had better food but this time the service had an impact on that as well because the waffle was completely cold since it sat in the window so long and the salad was completely soggy with dressing.

Great food and service. Love the desserts too. Charles was very nice and attentive. Another great experience the chicken parm and Lasagna are my favorite. Even with a party of 35 they were attentive. I cant get enough Lasagna and really like the clam chowder. It is thick, creamy and has chunks of potato. 3/1 Amazing service again. Props the waiter (Engineer) Great experience. Forgot how much I really like the Chicken pesto and pine nut dish. 1-31 love this place. Cant get enough. Thank you
