We were in Livermore Friday November 8th, to see a play at the Bankhead directed by a friend. I chose Strizzi because it was nearby and the menu looked good. When we arrived, a member of the waitstaff sat us and gave us menus, then completely ignored us. After 20 minutes, they had sat and taken orders for 5 other tables, and didn't even bother to bring us water. By that time, it was too late to find another restaurant and the play lasted until 10, so we really needed to eat. I walked up to the manager, and he pretended he didn't know we hadn't been helped, but instead of instructing the staff to help us, he said he would help us himself (along with doing his duties). It took another 5 minutes to bring us water, and then I insisted he take our order. I told him we were going to a play and needed to eat and leave. He brought us bread, but when the food arrived, they just piled it amongst the no longer needed bread plates instead of removing them, making the table very crowded. No one checked to see if we were okay during our meal, while stopping to chit chat with the other tables, bring them things and make sure they had every thing they needed. It was as if we were vermin. I had to stop a wait person to get our check, and he rushed over to the manager who had been helping us to take care of it. The manager took the price of our drinks off the bill, since we'd 'waited so long for service'----not nearly enough of an apology in my estimation. I paid and we left. My tween and teen granddaughters were dumbfounded. They recognized exactly what was going on, it was so very blatant. It was as if they wanted this Black family...
Read moreThe worst service we've ever had.. My husband is on crutches and put them underneath the table so they wouldn't be in anybody's way. The waitress tripped over the chair on the other end of the table, and then blamed the crutches for getting in her way. She brought the drinks and slammed them on the table, some of which were wrong. Again, that was totally our fault according to her. She brought us someone else's order, and after we had taken a bite, she took it back.. umm ew. Then she kept reaching right in front of our faces to serve our dishes. Her armpits were nearly an inch away from our face. She kept spilling stuff on us and the table. After all of that we noticed the manager was rudely reprimanding the servers one by one, and ordering them around. It was obvious that he was rude and micromanaging the entire staff. Not really sure whether our waitress was just a terrible server or that the manager had her so shaken up she could barely do her job. Also the place was colder than the weather outside, which was 50 degrees. The guests were in zipped up coats and sweaters. The manager acted as if we were nuts, and condescendingly told us he would do his best to warm it up. Just a super...
Read moreUnremarkable food, substandard service. Arrived after waiting 30 minutes at another restaurant that had lost power. Meal cost $100 (with wine) for two (two salads + two entrees + wine). It took 15 minutes to get water. 25 minutes to get 'sorry no bread is left tonight' (after watching three other tables that arrived after us get bread) and 55 minutes to get our entrees. My pork was thinner than thin cut grocery store pork chops-- my wife's red shrimp pasta came with the shell, which she said she's never seen anywhere, not even in NY (and she's well traveled.) Flavor was OK but not exciting or worth the price. Service was substandard-- they dropped my utensils during a food delivery mixup and didn't return them until several minutes after the entree was delivered and only then because we specifically flagged another server down to...
