I love your food and eat here frequently. The variety and service is usually awesome. But sadly yall almost always incorrectly prepare the order when its a basic lunch meal, but what is nice is that you always have no issues fixing it.
Update 5/24: I eventually stopped going here because of the incorrect orders. It was happening everytime and I got the exact same thing everytime for lunch from here. Every once in awhile when I try again, it is incorrect. My family recently planned a big dinner here (about 15 people), granted we weren't aware it was during the first big event of the summer but it was booked almost a month in advance so the kitchen should have had time to prepare or at least notify our party they couldn't accommodate us. They only had one waitress for such a large group, Quinlyn (I'm so sorry if I misspelt that), and she was literally the only reason it's not a one star review.
Unfortunately, an extremely large portion of the menu was unavailable. Once everyone ordered, the waitress came back to tell us that they were out of chicken. 5 people had to reorder. She came back out to tell us that the kitchen informed her that they were also out of haddock. 3 people had to reorder, two being the ones who originally wanted chicken. We were then informed that some of the dressing for salads was unavailable. Some of the starters came out, mine never came out at all but I also wasn't billed for it. Only about half of us received our entrees. 15 minutes later the waitress came back out to tell us the kitchen mixed up orders and were working on the rest at that moment. More came out after about at least 20 more minutes. They were then out of tartar sauce and ketchup. While waiting, the children and some adults were getting bored and were throwing paper balls at each other, we picked some of it but I apologize for the mess. 3 more of our party didn't have food and then the waitress brought out a meal that wasn't even for our table. She went back to see what was going on and came back to say they were starting their meals now. Mind you, we ordered around 740 and it was bordering on 9. Two of those people just asked for boxes, which ironically they were out of large boxes. The waitress came out to say she was giving the mismade meal to us along with the 3 they forgot for free. Later on she came out with boxed meals for those last three, unfortunately one never asked for it boxed and left hungry. After our three hour dinner, we all arrived late to our next outing.
Unfortunately, maybe 3 or 4 people liked their meals. The steak definitely was not worth $40. The meza plate was not fresh. The tips pasta was overcooked and tasted like straight bay and basil. The alfredo was bland with no flavor. The meatballs were dry. Two of the people that burgers said they were not good at all. Without having any sauces available, no one enjoyed the fish. Everyone liked the salads!
The waitress was phenomenal and so polite. She did everything well and we could tell she felt bad. We all knew this wasn't her fault. 5 stars for her!
As for the kitchen and restaurant, you had a band literally right outside your restaurant entrance. For final Fridays it was always usually in the intersection. With that said you should have known it was going to be a busy night in advance, along with our very early booked reservation. Please be upfront with your patrons or explain that they cannot be accommodated. That would have been understandable. With your absolute lack of preparation or curtesy, you not only just lost 15+ people returning, but probably their families and friends.
This was a surprise dinner and although everything about the restuarant (except the waitress) was pretty bad, I got to spend the time waiting with my loved ones, which made everything better. My night wasn't ruined and it wasn't worth being upset about. -But yall need to know how this experience was from a customers point of view. Please be more transparent with your patrons and yourselves. If you aren't prepared, be honest...
Read moreVery cozy restaurant. The waitress was very kind. I asked water with no ice, and she accidentally brought water with ice. Soon later, recognizing she made this small mistake, she apologized and brought water with no ice. Actually, some waiters/waitresses could ignore "ah, whatever," and also it was not a big deal for me. However, she sincerely cared customers.
Basil tomato soup was enough to make me warm and feel cozy.
Gyro sandwich was amazing: you gotta definitely try it.
The sandwich with beef, mushrooms, and kaiser bread was so good.
Every food is seasoned variously without using one way of seasoning for multiple things which can be boring.
The foods here is not greezy at all, but fresh and tidy if it makes sense. I am not a huge fan of greezy burgers, so I want to try burgers here.
Only one thing I was not satisfied was the fries are not super crispy.
They seem to have cocktails and hard drinks, too.
You can use street parking with coins which is not that expensive. (Around 1-2 dollars per hour). The waitress told me that there is a possbld free parking behind somewhere though it is for tenants as I remember.
I will visit again to try...
Read morewhile I'm a PA native, I've been living in New York for years. I'm a bit spoiled with a huge variety of cuisines to choose from. Stella A's is usually one of my "safe" restaurants to go to whenever I visit the area, as Mediterranean food can usually be made dairy free / vegan with some tinkering... Their menu seems to change pretty frequently. I remember years ago being able to get some vegan-by-default pierogies or falafel. Most recently, they were out of those 'safe' options until I was informed that they are now carrying BEYOND BURGERS!!! I was so excited to get a substantial vegan burger that tasted AWESOME! I'm not sure how long they will be around, as there may not be much of a demand for them yet. but the fact that a little restaurant in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania now carries vegan options is enough of a reason for me to give 5 stars!!! in addition to that, the staff is always 100% stellar and...
