I have to preface this review by saying that I have been a customer of Nicole's since her days of selling cakes and cannoli out of her home. When she decided to open this bakery, I was so excited to see what would be offered. I was there that first day when the ovens malfunctioned and I know how frustrated and upset she was that day and she did everything in her power to make it right to her customers. Here are the products that I have tried and my thoughts on each:
The croissants are amazing! Get the strawberry filled if you need a sweet treat. I am a croissant snob and these are so fluffy and fresh.
The breakfast sandwiches are mouthwateringly good. I couldn't believe how much egg and cheese was on this sandwich. It is truly a meal in itself. I usually bring a large orange juice with me in the car and grab one of the breakfast sandwiches for my drive to work. The only problem is that it is so big, it is hard to eat with one hand.
The cannoli....OMG where do I start. I'm drooling writing this. I am always on the search for a great cannoli and these are superb! The shell is always fresh and crunchy. The ricotta is so fresh and you can taste that difference compared to other places. Fresh ground pistachios are a must!
I started using sourdough bread for most of my sandwiches and toast. Eating cleaner has really made a difference my disease activity level. When you have an auto-immune disease, you really have to stop and think about what you are putting into your body. I am by no means a health freak! I love my junk food! But you can taste the difference in the products that are served by Nicole.
I haven't even mentioned the spinach dip bread bowls. The list just goes on and on. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Photos to come when I learn how to use my...
Read moreAbsolutely love Nicola’s Bakery! Everything I have ever had from there tasted delicious. I appreciate the high quality ingredients. The sourdough bread is amazing and way better than any brand I have bought from a store. Her breakfast sandwiches are delicious too. I personally love the sausage ones. Every employee there has provide great service and is so nice. The treat everyone like they are family and you don’t find that often. Even Nicole is out and about helping people all the time. The atmosphere is so friendly. I enjoy sitting down and enjoying my breakfast before I leave. I also have to add that I live in Elmhurst. I’m not even local but those breakfast sandwiches are worth the drive! I tend to drive out twice a month and get a bunch of stuff. I freeze whatever I’m not using right away and pull out as soon as I need it. And I have to also mention the cinnamon bun are really great too and I personally say better than Cinnabon! I have dietary restrictions and actually can’t stomach Cinnabon anymore but I love being able to eat Nicola’s cinnamon buns and not get sick! I highly recommend to everyone to swing by and check out the bakery especially if you want some good high...
Read moreThis place is a GEM!!! Let me tell you why: Nicole is SO sweet and knowledgeable about her products Everything is made with the real deal holyfield of ingredients - farm fresh eggs, grass fed butter, non-MSG meats, homemade sourdough, homemade vanilla, etc. You name it and it most likely came fresh from Vintage Farms! I'm gluten sensitive and have been bread deprived for YEARS but not any more; Nicole's sourdough doesn't upset my tummy and I could literally cry happy tears over consuming toast in the morning again and being able to have a bagel! Dairy Free, Gluten Free protein cookies?! COUNT. ME. IN. Plus, she offers sourdough treats like cookies, scones, and more. I could likely go on forever but I think this should be enough to make someone want to go check out this cutie little store in...
