Severely disappointed in Morty’s today. I have eaten here and at their food truck on several occasions throughout the last couple years and have always had a 10/10 experience, except for today. My to-go lunch order had barely warm and over salted fries, not the normal piping hot and delicious fries I’ve come to expect and love. The burger was worse: it was undercooked, and when I got to the middle it was completely raw and inedible. This is an unsafe practice for anyone who did not ask for medium rare/rare meat, and is especially dangerous for me to consume right now because I’m pregnant. I’m really sad and disappointed I paid $16 for a burger I couldn’t finish, and for fries that weren’t up to par. What used to be my favorite burger spot has been knocked down a few pegs. I’ll definitely reconsider the amount of people I am recommending to try Morty’s now.

Overall I’d give this a 5 star because of the burger. Fast casual can be harder to differentiate but also it is also easier because little things go a long way, like clean tables, engaging staff and clean restrooms. So let’s break this down 1. Food quality - 5 stars. This was one of the best burgers I’ve had. A variety of toppings and well placed - photos are reality. 2. Service - 4 Stars. The team was fine but it want until I engaged that the girl at the POS system warmed up. 3. Vibe - I liked the small quaint little feel. Was clean and comfortable. Fries were great, onion rings were ok but I’m always on the lookout for a great onion ring serving. My kids go to school here in Logan so we will be back. Just step up the dining experience a little and I would say this would be endeared by all.

Morty's food truck stops over by Get Health? on Thursdays, which is close to work. My first experience was with the mighty Mortician. Double beef patties, pastrami, cheese, jalapenos, and onion rings. I like to get extra jalapenos and it's one monster of a burger; but is probably one of the better burgers that you can get in Cache Valley. Yes, that quality comes with a higher price than your typical burger joint; but being stuck in a college town demands that one be willing to pay a little more for better quality than you can get at the typical fast food chains. Morty's definitely has the best sweet potato fries in the valley. Their regular fries are good, too. Highly recommend Morty's, even if your'e not going to pony up for the mighty Mortician.

Overall Experience: 2/5 Food (If hot) 5/5 Morty’s is great, if you go in to their stores. Unfortunately, both of their location are at awkward locations, only blocks apart on USU‘s campus. When they were a single store, they were busy but it seemed their delivery was still decent. Recently, they opened a new store, again, only blocks away from their main store. It would seem that it would be wiser to open a location elsewhere in the valley in an attempt to reach more customers, more rapidly. Instead, they have two stores that are essentially next door to each other where all deliveries are directed to the new location at Blue Square. Morty’s has never been fast at delivery, but I would consider it now far below average, and just below average in terms of delivery times when it was the single location. You would think that with a location dedicated only to deliveries, that these times would improve. However, it seems the opposite is true. With the opening of the new location, delivery times are often longer than the advertised time from their website, and accuracy of order is low. Burgers are made wrong, items like sauce are forgotten, including ordered items, and food arrives barely warm. I believe Morty’s is struggling to keep up with their popularity, and if they don’t change this, they are going to lose customers. The food is good, and the price justifiable if in-house. But the time you have to wait to receive barely-warm food that is possibly made wrong, with items sometimes forgotten, just isn’t. I wouldn’t recommend delivery. Sadly, the time I have available, my delivery to in house orders is 10 to 1. And I don’t think I will be ordering deliver any time soon again. Some suggestions would be to hire more delivery drivers, especially for busy weekends and also the use of insulated delivery boxes like pizza carriers use to get food hot to delivery customers. My experience on 12/7 was thus: I placed my order at 6:27 using their website, shortly after I received an email saying that my expected delivery time was 7:28. Two burgers with fries and one shake and one cookie, total with automatic tip $33.59. The delivery was at 7:45 and the shake was forgotten. I informed the delivery driver and he said that he would bring it back. The fries were cold, and needed to be warmed in the microwave. The burgers were still warm, though one burger had barely any of their delicious sauce on it. Luckily, I asked for extra in the order. The other burger was perfect, it was the seasonal special. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie. I have had several in store and they are usually amazing. The cookie I received was either old or overcooked, as it was extremely brittle and dry. After one hour of waiting for the delivery driver to come back with the forgotten shake, I called the store. Apparently, they were aware of the missed item, but made no attempt to contact me and had yet to send it out. I was told they would either refund it or have it to me in 30 minutes, as it was for my daughter, she still wanted it. It was almost exactly 1 hour after my phone conversation that the shake was delivered, 2.5 hours after the original order. I was given a short apology and a coupon for a free shake and free scone fries. While these were appreciated, I am skeptical to ever order delivery again.

In conclusion, Morty’s is great, IF you go in to their store. But they haven’t gotten their delivery service figured out enough to justify the price for the quality of food that you will receive or the time that it takes...

Update I decided to give Morty's another chance. I ordered 2 burgers, 2 fries, and scone fries through their app and requested curbside. When I arrived, I called to let them know I'd arrived and I explained that I have had bad experiences in the past and asked them to please double check my order to make sure it was correct. When the girl brought my order to my car, she assured me it was double checked. I reconfirmed the contents and quantity of each and she said yes, so I left. Sure enough, when I got home I was missing one of my fries. Seriously incompetent staff!! Why is it so hard to complete an order accurately?

Previous visit: This is the 4th time I've received an incorrect order from Morty's via Doordash. Each time, a major component of my meal is left out of the bag. This time I ordered 2 Sunnyside Burgers with fries and shakes. My order was 45 minutes late, with melted shakes and no fries. When I called the restaurant, the Shift Lead apologized explaining they were short-handed. I told him I'd be there in 5 minutes for new shakes and both orders of fries. When I got there, he apologized again and gave me my shakes and a stapled bag of French fries. Trusting that the "Shift Lead" wouldn't mess up again, I left. When I arrived at home, I discovered that I was missing my 2nd order of fries. Shame on me for trusting him. I also discovered that my burger had extra toppings that I had specifically requested to be left off. The food is good, but their service is atrocious. ...

I used to love Morty’s for its food, convenience, and consistency, but other recent reviews as well as my recent personal experiences have made it clear that it’s gone downhill in quality, service, and cleanliness over the past year. When they hit - oh boy it’s good. Wonderful fries, awesome selection, good options for most dietary restrictions. However, the “hits” of positive experience have become fewer and farther between as of late.

I also wouldn’t recommend takeout from here unless you are within walking distance - the parking lot is already small, but when USU recently bought the building to make it student housing they took over several parking spots. You might get lucky, but more than likely you’ll either be circling for a while waiting for a spot to open OR you’ll need to park a ways away (the restaurant does claim to validate parking in Aggie Terrace) and walk - leading to cold food when you finally pick it up. You could plan accordingly, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the convenience of takeout. A dedicated pickup or curbside space would be helpful.

I still go here periodically and will consider becoming a semi-regular again and updating my review accordingly if consistency improves and I start spending more days...
