I will preface this by saying we have come here many times with no issues and the food was delicious tonight as well ... the service on the other hand was so bad I feel the need to share this review. We ordered 6 quesabirrias and 2 horchatas. The lady taking our order told us our total and my husband understood it to be 24 dollars and change. My husband put 25.00 on the counter as she made our drinks. We misunderstood and it was actually 34 dollars and change. My husband laid another 20 on the counter and said that he didn't give her enough money. She was extremely confused at this point and had no idea the change to give. She put a 5 on the counter and I walked her though the coins totalling .63. I literally had to tell her "2 quarters 1 dime 3 pennies." This still was no issue to my husband and I. She was just obviously confused and struggling through a possible language barrier between us. At this point she should have owed us 10.63 but, again, we decided to take the 5.63 and not worry about it because we didn't want to confuse her further. We sat down and waited almost 30 minutes for our food and my husband asked where our food is because we watched multiple people order and sit down and eat. I went up to ask about our food and she acted dumbfounded we didn't have food yet. They had apparently lost the ticket so another girl came up to help and sort it out. I was still calm and kind and mentioned to this other girl being shorted the 5 dollars and explained the situation. She asked the original girl about it in Spanish and then the original girl came back up to me and said "I gave you 16!" Which, wouldn't have made sense in the slightest but i said no, you gave me 5.63. We ended up paying 45 total and not 40 so we should have been owed 10.63. She said that wasn't correct. My husband came up and tried to explain it as well and she got really angry, opened the drawer, grabbed a 5 dollar bill out and slammed it on the counter before slamming the cash register drawer and storming away. My husband and I were willing to ignore the 5 dollars being shorted to us and having to explain how to make change, we were understanding about our food ticket being lost, and were trying to just get the 5 we were owed especially after such a long wait for food. We also stayed calm and happy even after this girls temper tantrum over HER mistake. I won't be back, unfortunately.... and I eat here often. It's probably my favorite place to eat. I am understanding through issues but blatant disrespect toward a customer is not something...
Read moreAs much as I like to advocate in the support of small businesses especially those in small towns, today's visit was nothing short of disappointing. My husband called the restaurant this afternoon around 6pm to place a simple order of 10 tacos. When he picked up the tacos they did not look at all like the tacos we ordered. We recieved the order of tacos that the tortilla was deep fried and melted cheese on top. Maybe very yummy for others but again not what we ordered. We called the restaurant and explained that perhaps we had recieved the wrong order and the man attending was very aggressive and said that those tacos are called "Tacos Volcan and that's how the order came through" When we explained we had not ordered those tacos he said" Well I already spoke to the boss and he said that your only choice Is to come back and order and pay for the set of tacos you want. We explained we did not want the tacos they took the wrong order for and would gladly bring them back for a refund and they denied it. Why would we order a set of different style of tacos we didn't even know the name of? We have supported this restaurant in the past by eating there befour this incident always placing the same order of tacos but something has changed in Service and the quality of the food as I can see from others recent reviews have experienced the same. I hope they take a better look at their quality control of products and customer service. As a business you can not keep expecting the client to take the loss caused by...
Read moreUpon arriving, we noticed there were no complimentary chips and salsa provided, which is unusual for a Mexican restaurant. The server brought us water and menus, but that was the extent of the service until our food arrived. Unfortunately, the portion sizes were quite small, and the prices were significantly higher than expected, especially considering the overall experience.
One of the more disappointing aspects was the customer service. The young man at the front counter appeared disinterested, was noticeably rude, and did not communicate effectively. His behavior—particularly the way he looked at my girlfriend—was unprofessional and made us uncomfortable.
After our meals were delivered, the server did not return to check on us or offer refills. We eventually had to walk up front to ask for refills ourselves. It’s also worth mentioning that we were the only guests in the restaurant, which made the lack of attentiveness even more surprising. I also want to note that the 2 men working there didn’t speak a word of English.
Overall, the experience felt awkward and overpriced. I’m honestly surprised to hear they’re opening another location nearby. If you’re looking for quality Mexican food with better service, larger portions, and more reasonable prices, I highly recommend Chips n Salsa on Market...
