I just recently moved to Loganville and was disappointed I was going to have to find a new hibachi place since we were no longer near our favorite place, Samurai Blue in Lawrenceville. I had been to Kyoto before and remembered having great food and great service...so I figured we could try this place again. We have been going to Kyoto now for a few months and each time the wait staff seem to be in the worst of moods. They are not friendly and almost seem annoyed when you order. Since there are not many other hibachi places in the area we continued to go back.
Well, last night we went and had been sitting and waiting for 20-25mins on them to come out and start cooking the food. I understand they have to prep food and that takes time, however, there were just two of us at the table! As we are waiting, a huge family walks in with about 5-6 kids along with several adults. The owner/manager decided to seat them at our table! This meant we were now going to have to wait even longer for them to place their drink orders/figure out what each person/kid wanted to eat/bring out their soup-salad/prep ALL of the food/and then come cook it. I could not believe it! We had already finished our soup and salad and had been waiting forever and now were going to have to wait on this family.
I understand they try to fit as many people at a table as possible, but when people have already been waiting, there are other open tables and a huge family walks in...you sit them at their own table! If it had been another couple or even three people it would have been different. The entire family did not even fit at our table. A few had to sit in the middle section! We decided that we did not want to wait another hour so we told the owner we were leaving and wanted to pay for the salad/soup we had eaten and our drinks. When we told him why we were leaving, we were informed that this family were regulars. That's fine....from now on we will be making that 30min drive over to Samurai Blue in Lawrenceville where we were...
Read moreThe WORST experience ever!!!!!! This was my favorite place to eat. My sisters took my here for my birthday just now. I always get the vegetables . When our chef finally came out and started cooking there was no smile or any type of show or light heartedness that you would normally get. No big deal though, I thought. When he put the food on my plate I was in disbelief . It was literally the equivalent of 2 small spoonfuls. It could not even fill up the side item part of a Togo plate. Not to mention they forgot the steamed rice my sister and I ordered. ( after we asked about it when everyone was already eating they brought the rice out with the servers thumb buried so beep in the rice that you could not see her thumb anymore) when my sister asked if that was all the food I got, that we visit very often, and that is not what we are a custom too, we where told he needed the name of that chef so he could fire him. He proceeded to tell me to eat somewhere else. I told him that that was my favorite but after this I guess I would have to. He then tells me "that will be the best day of my life." You can imagine me sitting there all dressed up with a pink birthday sash on hearing this. I almost lost it. I have never been so disrespected. On my birthday to say the least. Andre was my chefs name. He really ruined this restaurant for me. I will never go back. I am now on the hunt for a new...
Read moreWent here for the first time last night. Had been to the one in Augusta several times many years ago. Was initially pleased. Since my wife and I were happy with a regular table we got seated immediately. Our sever was sweet and tried hard to please for the most part. The salad and soup was enjoyable. It was after we had ordered things went down hill fast. First we waited 45 mins for our food. I suspect it had been ready and sitting while we watched as our server brought other groups their checks. When the food finally came it was cold . We sent it back but it did not seem much better. After eating we waited a good while for our check so I just went to the cashier and asked for it. I should mention I had a good view of the register and watched at least two people go up while the cashier was away from the front, pause, then walk out. Not sure they did not pay but paying at the table might prevent it if they did. Only after I had paid did our server show up as we stood up to leave, apologized and offered to give us our two beers we had free. Nice gesture but it was a little late. Sadly and at the risk of TMI it was only after we left the worst issue began. Not long after I got home I started having bad stomach cramps and spent the next hour or so in and out of the bathroom. Again, the server was very sweet, did not penalize her too much for the problems but I’ll surely never go back...
