Waffle House — Restaurant in Loganville

Our server Koyahn was attentive and took all of our orders perfectly. The ONLY reason that I left a 3 star review rather than 5 is because of the way that I watched his fellow coworkers interact with him. While he was checking my party out at the register multiple of his coworkers continued asking him to do other things and one even attempted snatching the check out of his hand. At this I was absolutely appalled by her blatant lack of respect for her coworker and lack of any customer service. It was very obvious that he was doing the best job he could while one of his coworkers Amanda stood around doing nothing for the hour that I was in the restaurant. While he was taking my money she asked him to do 3 tasks and drop what he was doing and when he didn’t she threatened to “send him home if he didn’t do his job”. I think she severely lacks any room to talk about doing his job when she was very clearly standing around doing nothing while everyone else was diligently working. Won’t be back until the women who treated that poor boy so poorly are let go or get a mega attitude check. food was okay, service was half decent until a young group of 4 black people came in and we overheard the staff (all white) gossiping amongst themselves regarding the group and caught the staff making very judgmental eye contact. their racism was NOT subtle. the group was patiently waiting to be seated for over 20 minutes, while 2 (once again, white) parties that came in AFTER them were seated. the person with me caught onto most of this as i was facing away from customers and not paying attention to staff. i thought i was just overthinking but he confirmed my suspicion when we left. he heard it was one of their birthdays, and he made sure to tell the young man happy birthday and give him a fist bump. and they ended up leaving after only getting drinks to go... i've never left a bad review before but this establishment deserves it. please don't support this business. the group shouldn't have been alienated for simply wanting to have dinner with their friend for his birthday. i know this is how loganville is, but that's not an excuse in the slightest. to the owner(s) of this page, don't delete this review. i'll be posting it again if that happens. your customers...

We came in at about 9:00. We sat for a few minutes until jazz came over and told us they were switching shifts and someone would be with us shortly. She went ahead and took our order and got our drinks. She then waited on us the rest of the time as the 3rd shift waitress didn’t show up until 9:50pm. The other waitress on shift with jazz was constantly complaining & talking about how she was leaving the place a wreck & walking out as soon as the girl got there. Jazz on the other hand, was as sweet as could be, not a complaint in sight & I overheard her talking to a guy that I guess had came in this morning & saw her & said “you’re still here!” And she said “yeah a girl called out on second shift so I stayed” so this means jazz had been at work from 7am and she stayed until right at 10pm & had no complaint in the world. She went above & beyond expectations & is the only reason we didn’t get up and leave like we saw 6 other tables do in the course of the 1 hour with no 3rd shift waitress.
