The Patio - Lombard — Restaurant in Lombard

Well, outside of the food being absolutely spectacular, the atmosphere and the workers were great. I just walked out of the building and felt like I really needed to share a few words about how awesome this place is. The tall dude who took my order was so nice and recommended the loaded Mac N Cheese. It was fantastic. I didn't think to look at his name because I didn't know how much I was gonna like this place. I even got a brownie on the way out. I was skeptical about how good the brownie was gonna be because everything else was so good. I assumed that something was gonna go wrong during this visit because that is how most restaurants are, but even the brownie was amazing. This was my first time here and it most definitely won't be my last. I might even come back tomorrow. If the rest of the locations are this outstanding, I don't know how other restaurants are going to survive. The Patio might be my new favorite restaurant. I have not had a better experience at a restaurant ever in my life, and I go out to eat a lot. Thank you for the great experience. To the manager I saw walking around and working hard, keep up the good work. You do a great job with your restaurant and the people who work for you. I noticed how much work you put in and also how happy your employees are to work for you. Alexa delivered my food, she was very friendly and answered some questions for me. I made sure I got a least one person's name. I tried to tip and she informed me that it isn't really a place where you tip. That's the only thing I would change, let me tip someone lol. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR THEY WILL TREAT YOU HORRIBLY!

My family and I have been coming to The Patio for quite some time now but there seems to be a shift in service. Last time I ate here I was greeted with a scoff and angry looking face by the old white man working the patio area. He also happened to serve my food that day in which he chucked our food onto the table and walked away. After that interaction I didn’t want to come back. I decided to give them another chance today and was greeted with same angry looking face from the same guy paired with another old lady with curly hair working the patio. I decided to come get a late lunch today and figured it would be fine because it wasn’t busy. Ordering my food was fine. I didn’t wait that long until my food was served at the table. An older lady who brought my food over didn’t even smile or say hello. I hesitantly thanked her and her response was “gimme that” and pointed to the number card. Didn’t even give me 2 seconds to grab it before demanding me. 5 minutes later I witnessed both the older man and older lady serve other tables. She served a white gentleman and asked “is there anything else i can get you sweetie”? The old man served an old white couple and even had conversation with them. Notice something? Is it because I’m not white you’re forced to look away in disgust and can’t even give me simple hello? Been to other locations and never have a felt so uninvited. Do not eat here if you’re a person of color. They clearly only care about white families coming to eat here. Shame on you guys considering most of your kitchen staff are...

I remember the first Patio on 90th and Harlem. It was a small joint back then but always packed on the weekends. Now there fancy places have a bigger menu and nicer environs. But it's the quality of the food and service that sets them apart from other chains. Try the Oreganato rotisserie chicken (Greek style) with rice pilaf and roasted veggies. Yum!!! Ribs, kabobs, and even fish tacos are great, also. I order from here 2-3 times a week. Never disappointed!!!!

Need to update my review of the Patio.

I've been ordering via doordash lately and the quality of the food is terrible. When you dine in you can always send it back but it seems delivery gets the worst food.

I ordered the ½ bbq chicken which was OK but the side order of broccoli was totally UGLY!!! See the photo. Broccoli was brown and yellow - no green anywhere. Does Patio really think they can pass off their bad food on delivery orders???

Also, they make the worst baked potatoes. They're not white and fluffy. They're thick, starchy, flavorless and brown. I've ordered over a dozen times and they're consistently YUK.

UPDATE: JUL 17th 2024. Just ordered the Spaghetti via Uber Eats. It was cold and had very little sauce. I added Italian sausage and it was cold and dried out. I tried to get a refund from Uber Eats but was turned down
