Halaleez Chicken and Gyro — Restaurant in Lombard

Food could be good if it wasn't cold and sitting chopped up in a warmer pan. I ordered their gyro wrap. Let's just say if you are from Chicago this place will certainly disappoint. The place is clean and neat with no customers and three people that could be seen behind the counter. They have two stools facing away from the counter. No oce greeted me. One person had his back to me the entire time I tried to place an order in the self service table The other staff looked like he was cleaning something in the back of the restaurant while the other chatted withe the gentleman who's back faced the counter. The fries where pre cooked and sat in a stainless steel bowl in the corner on the prep table. No heat lamp no warmer. The bowl sat on top of a wicker basket. The gyro meat was pretty chopped into chunks and healed in low temperature holding table top unit. While everything was well presented. It lacks temperature...

Way way way too expensive for what it is. It’s same food style as halal guys from NY, you get rice, lettuce, meat, sauces. In heart of Manhattan halal guys is selling better tasting meal for $12 and these guys in Lombard Illinois selling it 20+ dollars. Y’all have lost your mind. Food was average at best, I don’t even want to think about the soggy fries. Sauces lacked flavor. I don’t know who is leaving these 5 star reviews (probably friends and family) bless their hearts.

Best Gyro in All of Chicago – Feels Like NYC!

Halaleez just set the bar for gyros in Chicago. I’ve had gyros over rice all over the city, and this is hands down the best. The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, and loaded into fresh pita with crisp veggies and that creamy white sauce that’s spot-on.

Honestly, it took me right back to the street carts in New York – the flavor, the portions, the whole vibe. I got the gyro platter too, and it was huge… enough for two meals, but I couldn’t stop eating.
