Their food is good but not excellent. Their CATERING SIDE OF THEEEE OPERATION is a different story however : Someone was interviewed and hired on the spot by Kim, the H.R. Manager but but but Crystal Coser said, well basically UN-hired someone because this person had A broken tooth veneer and 1 Dental tooth extraction on order to prepare for an implant. The tooth that had to be extracted was in the upper right quadrant, and yes it was visible, agreed. The other broken veneer was not to visible due to its location. Both teeth which was in the process of been repaired, been prepped for a replacement. So beeeecause of the simple fact that someone had a broken tooth veneer and a necessary extraction : as in a gap in the upper front area this was theee cause for Crystal to over-write Kim and UN-hire someone beeecause of a dental gap and broken Veneer. This person did have a gap on the front area, yes, agreed.. This was during COVID-19's strick Facemasks policy established by the Los Angeles county Department of Public Health in which Facemask were mandatory by restaurants and Catering company employees. so if '' FACEMASKS '' were going to be involved before, during and after catering events ( as well as restaurants ). Why would Crystal Coser basically terminate someone because of A broken Dental Veneer ? I guess she is CONCERNED about thee image of HER COMPANY : about A broken Dental Veneer and an extracted tooth that will make HER COMPANY look bad eventhough COVID19 FACEMASKS would would cover the smiley face area she is concerned about... Crystal Coser how do YOU feel about YOUR IMAGINE NOW...???
THERE is more, Since Crystal Coser UN-hired someone, this dedicated person would call, text and send Emails in order to book shifts with Bites and Bashes Crystal Coser's Catering Company. This went in for 2 Months. Guess what ?? There were no no NO returned calls, emails or texts. No type of communication from Bites and Bashes Catering. No Texts, calls, emails, radio traffic, Shortwave radio, satellite phone, CB, Telex, Fax, 2 way radio, Chirp Commo, smoke signals, Mirror signals, or messenger pichons. Nothing nothing telling this person something like '' Sorry, I Crystal Coser changed my mind So i told Kim my H.R. manager not to book you for any events ''. As a common courtesy at least tell someone they were UN-hired instead of this dedicated person stopped looking for work THINKING '' I GOT A JOB, I will just wait until THEY text me for events I can work ''
Does Crystal Coser write BIAS-ED reviews due to the way a prep cook or line cook or a waitress / waiter / server looks like a bad car accident, or someone got burned during a house fire or A survivor of the Killing Fields Of Cambodia or A failed assassination attempt by North Korean Agents...
Crystal Coser is also a co-editor for EaterLA...
Discrimination is not only UN-ethical but is also ILLEGAL Crystal Coser...

Read moreI am an LA-based event planner for that focuses on high-end events. I have worked with a wide variety of catering companies, but Bites & Bashes is next level. The first time I connected with Bites & Bashes they worked with me to provide a quick turnaround and blew us out of the water in terms of quality of the food and service. Luckily they had the availability to cater a last minute internal corporate reception for 75 people where they provided the most delicious passed hors d'oeuvres. In addition, we added the antipasto (picture below) which was a huge hit and incredibly stunning. The flowers came from the Chef Julie's garden which added to the magic.
The most recent event that Bites & Bashes catered was for our office holiday party at the Natural History Museum for about ~200 attendees. They were extremely patient and kind during the planning process as we had to build out an entire kitchen outside of the venue. Crystal (president) was specifically able to figure out ways to make our dream menu come to life even with all of the venue's restrictions (quick set-up/load-in times, lack of power, etc.). The Bites & Bashes team is creative and innovative. If you have a food or beverage idea for an event they will take it and make it 10x better than you could have imagined. For our holiday party, they made and served:
Passed Appetizers/ Hors d'oeuvres: Korean short rib tacos, jalapeno mac 'n' cheese bites, roasted butternut squash hummus on cucumber cups, chicken corn dogs, and crispy coconut shrimp
Interactive Food Stations: Pasta Bar, Live Action Carving Station, Sushi Bar, French Fry Bar, and a Late Night Taco Station
Drinks: festive cocktails - Naughty or Nice (margarita) and The Grinch (vodka, cucumber, pineapple, basil, lime), and an interactive old-fashioned station
If you are looking for good food, gorgeous presentation, AND fabulous service, than Bites & Bashes needed at your next personal celebration or corporate event. I cannot recommend Bites &...
Read moreWanting breakfast led me straight to Bites & Bashes, I was ready and excited because I knew this place was going to make my toes wiggle and it did lol. We ordered the All American which was pancakes, bacon and eggs with cheese. I omitted the bacon in hopes of being able to sub but that wasn't an option unfortunately. We also ordered the Mediterranean Omelet, an iced Rose Latte and a Horchata shaken espresso (only comes iced). My apologies I totally forgot to take pictures of our order because we devoured this breakfast without thought, was it good??? Absolutely!!. The pancakes were moist and fluffy, the cheese eggs were soft, buttery and scrambled to perfection. The Mediterranean omelet was super good and it came with tater tots. I loved the mix of the orange and yellow tomatoes, the feta was great( feta makes life betta), the tater tots were just ok.. just your regular unseasoned tots.
Now, the coffee.. the Horchata was super delicious!! Definitely recommend, the only thing I would change is the sweetness. I would request more of the Horchata to give me more sweetness, but it was still very delicious. The Rose Latte was disappointing, the rose syrup used had a strong not so pleasant after taste which overshadowed the coffee and made the drink taste funny overall so I only had one sip and couldn't drink the rest unfortunately and it sucked because I was really looking forward to the rose latte.
Customer Service, was amazing!! The young lady was very helpful and patient due to it being our first time. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations for the future. Parking, there's street parking available and we didn't have an issue finding a spot right out front. The inside set up is so cute and cozy, there's space to work, study or meet up with friends for a quick bite. There's so much on this menu that I want to explore and I will definitely be back. If you're near the Lomita area swing by...
