LJS has always been one of our very favorites for over forty years and we have eaten at this location in London about once a month for many many years. It used to be very busy and popular. However last three times we have been there in last couple months, we have dined alone, with the exception of one more customer and this was at 12:00 noon, right at mealtime. There were also no drive thru pick ups last time we were there. We have always had good service there and decent size servings until our experience last week. We ordered two three piece fish with slaw, huspuppies, cole slaw and two small drinks. It was only pennys away from $30.00 for the two of us. The fish was best we have ever eaten there, hands down. It was very crisp, fresh, and not greasy at all as it usually is. All the food was delicious , so they must have a great cook. Our complaint was, the divided plates are very shallow and we only had a good teaspoon each of coleslaw and 10 small French fries each, I counted. Is that the reason for shallow dishes ?What’s the deal ? $30 for two people to eat and leave hungry ? We had two bites of slaw each. Also there was only one customer in there dining. He was very upset and told my husband as he passed by, I hope you all don’t need extra ketchup or salt because they charged me for it and I will never be back here !! I don’t think he lied cause they could hear him. They had only given us two small packets ketchup and two salts. No pump anymore. 😢 However after he left we did need more ketchup and I went and asked and they gave it to me, no problem. Only complaint we have is the prices have shot up ridiculously, and not a thimble full of slaw and fries. Used to we could not even clean our plates. I understand why the dining area empty there at lunch time. I mean if you are going to charge a fortune, at least give a decent amount like you always had before ! It’s sure not like they had any customers and were going to run out !! Very disappointed. Way they are going this place...
Read moreThis place is a joke. Why they are trying to improve the greasy fish and hide all the problems they’ve been plagued with over the years of nasty greasy food. Go in today to give them a try and ordered 13.00 fish meal through drive-thru I tell woman give me plenty of tatter sauce. They say pull around to front. I wait once meal comes out nothing in bag but meal no napkins no tater sauce no ketchup nothing so I walk in and asked for tater sauce the woman bring two small packets out the size of kindergarten kids portions and says it company policy one per fish lol what about the rest need I guess company policy bring your own napkins and ketchup whatever instead of arguing I walked right back to car got meal returned it and got money back. I tell the guy it’s a shame you just threw a 13.00 meal away for a pack of tater sauce. He cites company policy. Well I’ve already called Louisville. No doubt nothing has changed. With these actions and policy I hope they make the next bankruptcy court list of failing business because for years Long John’s fish was too freaking greasy to eat. Now they might have rectified that issue and created more with the petty issues with sauces. Keep those sauces. And that nasty fish. If Culver’s comes to London your out of business. Never will I return back at this dump called a fish place. Nasty with personal so stuck up management butt they can’t see daylight. Oh that’s right they probably want to keep it to steal and take home at night. Less they pass out more they take home. lol...
Read moreI have been to Long John Silver's about three times in the last couple of months or so, and each time I have only had bad experiences. On the first trip I was waiting at the drive-thru window for my food, when the two girls on the other side of the window nearly broke into a fist fight. They had been arguing when I was getting my change back, but then things had started to escalate from there. After a fairly long and tense wait one of the two girls pops her head out the window and tells me to pull around to the front. Once I had finally received my food I later discovered that they had gotten my order completely wrong. On another occasion the girl that was working the drive-thru refused to allow me to finish my order. She cut me off and simply told me to pull up for my total. Then on a third separate occasion in the drive thru a girl refused to accept my money due to the fact that I didn't have the exact correct amount of change. When my order was $10.34 I just assumed that $20 would cover it. Over all in my experiences I have found the staff to be highly untrained and very unprofessional. I will not be...
