Excellent food, excellent gf options, poor customer service.
I was delighted to find Luccianos last year and had several positive experiences. However, I won’t be back after my last visit.
I have many allergies and was understanding from prior engagement that the chicken parm was OK for me. During my last visit, I was told they are cooked in the same fryer as some allergens. I asked if they could pan fry it and was told no. I asked the waitress other questions she had to go back to the kitchen about. I thought someone from the kitchen may come speak with me, but they didn’t. I also didn’t get answers to the questions I asked. I easily get overwhelmed and emotional about food accommodations, especially when I thought I had already done my research and it doesn’t work out. I ordered something I knew was safe and figured I’d try to reach out to the restaurant later to understand what was safe for me.
My father got chicken Marsala and substituted bolognese sauce. He loved his meal, but was challenged by the amount of water in the sauce and a $6.95 up charge for the substituted sauce that he wasn’t consulted about. My mother got a fish sandwich and thought it was awful. It looked like a tiny, frozen filet o fish served on a giant bun. I did feel bad for her.
A few weeks later she told me about the negative email she sent to the owners about our experience. She did not get a response. From her description, I felt like her email detailed a harsher experience than we faced so I wrote one from my perspective. Mainly, I wanted to be able to know what I could eat long-term.
Tina, the owner, never actually made any comments about the negative experience but told me she would call me that Tuesday (1/9) to discuss allergies. She did not call.
I followed up 1/22 and 2/14 without response. 2/25 I replied to note that it shouldn’t take this much effort to understand what is safe to eat and wished the business luck. She immediately replied to tell me that I could reach out to her that Thursday or Friday to discuss (5-7 days later).
No one should have to put so much effort into feeling safe about their meal. It’s sad because I really...
Read moreMy second time visiting Luciano’s, as well as my father’s second time. There was 4 adults and my 3.5 year old daughter. Drinks were good! Arancini appetizer was the special, so we started with that, and it was delicious! The 4 adults all ordered pasta dishes, that had fresh shaved parmesan cheese all over the top of the pasta. My husband noticed first, since he had the vodka pasta, that the cheese had green mold on it. My sister then noticed hers had a few as well, even though her dish had spinach in it and was harder to tell. Our waiter Dylan was wonderful. We had taken the cheese off the pasta to put it on a side dish to show him, so he didn’t think we were crazy. He felt awful, and took the cheese to put it back on the pasta to show the chef or manager, not sure which in the back. Dylan apologized several times and they made us two fresh dishes. We waited another 10 minutes for the new dishes to come out. We understand things like this can happen and cheese can get moldy, but it was gross to see on our meals. My reason for this review is mainly our disappointment that no manager came over to apologize, and not even my sister’s soda was taken off the bill. I am not one to write negative reviews, but this is poor management to me. We go out to eat very often, and many other restaurants would have complimented a dessert, or at least came over to apologize for the inconvenience. Again, our waiter was wonderful, we cannot say enough positive things about Dylan, but this really disappointed us. Not sure we will be back. Update on 10/1 I was asked to email you, but you never responded and ignored our bad experience at your restaurant. Very disappointing and will not be returning. I guess this is...
Read moreWhere do I start? Was a fan of the old restaurant for ever! Though it was... "Old school", what they have done at this new location is absolutely amazing.
Carrying over the same food and standards you would expect, while creating more of a classic refined feel to the dining room. I love it honestly. A date, a friend, a work meeting, this atmosphere will make it a great time regardless of the situation.
Got the Lemon Ice specialty drink. Lights out! Delicious while not being weak. Balanced to perfection.
Calamari was awesome. Wish there were tentacles. Not th case. But the rings were fresh and cooked perfectly. The sauce was great. Basically the house sauce with a spicy kick. Loved it.
Got the veal. Pounded to order and lightly breaded. Been all over the country, even better than little Italy in Florida, which was my staple, this is the best veal I've ever had!
I've had your veal before, at the previous location. I don't know if it's the new kitchen, the new location, or just some good old fashioned nostalgia, but this didn't just live up to the veal I expected. This just took the title! So congrats.
Deserts look amazing and punch you in the face as soon as you walk in, saying, "remember me, you'll be taking me home", and no doubt I walked out with a piece of taramasu.
Not my favorite, but nothing not to look twice at. Delicious and a gluten free option for any sweet tooth.
Lastly, service was excellent. Hit this place during lunch hours, you'll get undivided attention as dinner hours can be quite busy with good reason.
This place is the real...
