Don't sleep on this place. Location: Long Beach off Cherry Ave. Small restaurant located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. It's almost tucked away in the corner but can't miss it with the beautiful and vibrant colors. Service: Incredible, I didn't ask but it's obviously family owned and operated with welcoming service. After I was greeted I asked in return "how you are?" and they replied with "Living the Dream" such a beautiful answer. Food: Amazing! A must try. Of course I had to try a little of everything but I really went for the tacos. Tacos are made with handmade tortillas and with juicy/flavorful meats. I got the combo that comes with 3 tacos and you can pick any of the meats available. Just a few of the meats they had were carnitas, asada, chicken, oh and they also had Soyrizo. I also had an order of the Agua Fresca, Loaded Fries, chips and Guacamole. Let me tell you I was not disappointed with anything, everything came out hot and ready to eat. This place is such a great authentic spot, I can't wait to return to have some more. See you here soon :)

The name made me come here but the Service and the quality of the food made me stay. Upon my arrival my self and and my colleagues were immediately acknowledge and greeted .first time here and Isabella made my experience seamless she recommended Great choices from the menu which is I took her advice and I do not regret it. As my food was getting prepared I took a sneak peek in the kitchen all the employees were wearing masks and gloves and the place looked very sanitary and clean. Everything is made in house from the sauces to the tortillas and you can feel The freshness as you eat. The flavors of the food were very balanced and the meat is high-quality and it melts in your mouth when you eat it. Prices are very fordable for a really big burrito and a large drink with light ice my total came to $13.50 totally worth it. If you have not been here yet what are you waiting for??

Came to eat lunch with a party of 11 the late afternoon of cinco de mayo. The tacos were great, I recommend getting the birria and carne asada tacos. You can pick 3 and it comes with beans and rice. As shown in the picture. Main reason why I gave 4/5 stars is because someone in our group is allergic to avocados and she mentioned it during her order but they still gave her avocados with her tacos, they kindly apologized after. Overall recommend this place, parking wont be an issue, the place can get packed so make sure to plan accordingly. They have latino music playing in the background. The service is great because they bring the food to your table.

Usually, when someone get's "La Chancla" (sandals/flip flops in Spanish), they've been bad. La Chancla Mexican Grill, however, is definitely good.

Handmade tortillas? Yes, please! Always on the hunt for flavorful food, my expeditions led me to La Chancla Mexican Grill in Long Beach. The standard options of carne asada, pollo asado & carnitas bore me at taquerias. So, when other meat choices are available, I go for them. Such was the case here, as I ordered an El Chanclazo chicaron plate.

The first thing I noticed was the melted cheese on top of the handmade corn tortillas. I thought they were keto taco shells, made entirely of melted cheese, which I've had at another place. The chicharon, itself, was soggy, not crispy, sopped up with juices. Not bad, just different from what I was expecting. The guacamole was creamy cool, the rice & beans filling & masterfully cooked. The horchata I had was refreshing, and not too sweet.

Service was good. The young woman working behind the counter was friendly & hospitable. La Chancla Mexican Grill is a small eatery, with a few indoor tables & a couple tables al fresco. No restroom. It is located on the right of Northgate Market.

I'm a payaso (clown in Spanish) for the El Chanclazo. La Chancla Mexican Grill serves up wholesome Mexican comfort food. In an infinite sea of taquerias, La Chancla is worth checking out the next time you have tacoencephalitis (tacos...

Ordered a steak burrito and got a veggie burrito. Called to let them know just in case they had made a mistake and given me another person's burrito, hoping the other person wouldn't get steak if they were in fact vegetarian. I didn't mind, I order from here a lot and wasn't calling to complain. I let them know that and it was like talking into one ear and out the other. The person changed to monotone and had zero empathy. They noted that the burrito was sitting for a long time and that I could get a free Taco. I tried to explain again that I wasn't calling to complain, and that I didn't appreciate being blamed for letting the food sit. The negative attitude and blame towards me felt unwarranted. I won't order from here again, it seems like they deal with a lot of mistakes, and not well in my opinion. Considering I called in a good mood, not to complain, and I left feeling spoken down to and like I was somehow cheated. The experience could only have been worse if I was actually upset about my order. Good food but be aware the service has been less than average a couple of times for...
