Short version: The feeling we got was that they did not want us eating there. They need more than one heater, servers seemed rude/angry. Maybe they worked an extra long shift and were over it, maybe people were rude to them all day, whatever the case we did not seem to be the only people to notice the poor customer service. I don't take poor reviews lightly and thought long and hard before posting this.
The good:Tables were 6ft apart, servers wore masks, there was a clean and used pen holder. The food was good. There was good lighting.
We visited around 7:30pm after calling ahead to be sure they were seating people All the tables were full and it didn't seem to be setup for people to go inside so I waited by the door. There were two servers and they each walked past me several times, I even made eye contact and nothing. So, I went inside and said hi, and waited for them to pay attention to me, the response was I didn't see you standing there, I wasn't sure if you were waiting for a to go order. As we were waiting we noticed there was only 1 heater outside for maybe 8 tables. Someone eating and wearing jackets asked if they could move closer to the heater because they were cold and we began to worry. We were seated close-ish to the heater, score! Except it was still very cold. We began looking at the menu, server seemed annoyed when we weren't ready to order right after sitting down. We ordered my sons food while we decided what we wanted. Another customer showed up and they were super rude to her. This will get too long if I go into the story but this woman sensing the rudeness said she could just take her order to go and they continued to be rude and said a to go order would be best. It was about 8 at this time. Honestly if this is how they treat people we have no interest in going back, even for a togo order. We ended up leaving. The service was sucking, we were very cold and then my son spilled some soup on his pants and we knew we had to go. It was already cold and he would freeze in wet pants. I will say they were nice about switching my son's food to a togo order and they gave him another bowl of soup and gave us a discount for it being a to go order. We did not bother ordering ourselves food, we were just ready to leave. We've been outdoor dining at a few restaurants, typically there are many heaters around, usually a stand that says check in here or a person to greet you and put you on a waiting list/seat you. Some places are so warm at night that you don't even need a jacket at all. This was not inviting in any way, we...
Read morefood and service were great! bury me in yellowtail sashimi please, and do try their curry puff. it's a delightfully sweet mild curry in a fried, crispy, chewy pastry. it's a week later now and I'm still thinking "hmm, I could go for another of those"
atmosphere was awful, the pace was busy but you couldn't hear anything besides one group yelling and swearing and laughing at each other. they seemed to settle down but then they started face-timing other people on loudspeaker to continue yelling and swearing and laughing. another table complained (sat closer to the noisy group than us, poor devils) not even a gentle "hey you're disturbing the other guests" from the manager. wanted to stay a while and try the crab but we paid up and...
Read moreMy wife and I have been coming here for years and love the food. On a previous visit there was a white hair embedded in the sushi, they replaced the roll, we paid and left. It's been months since we've eaten there again. We came in yesterday for a late lunch, ordered the tangerine roll, double tuna and several other rolls, we also ordered a mango green tea and iced water. Everything tasted great, we paid our bill of $72.44 which included the tip. If that were the end of the story everything would have been great, but shortly after leaving we both got violent diarrhea. To make things worse we had a concert later in the evening, it made things terribly uncomfortable. Sucks because we love this spot, we've decided to find a new...
