This place is really good depending on what you order, since this was my first time here I'm only rating off my first experience. I came an hour before closing so the place had been ran through with no salsas or clean floors. Not to say this made for a bad experience, when it comes to hole-in-the-walls any litte aesthetic adds to the ambiance. It feels like it's a total staple in Long Beach where regulars have come for years, there was a family dining while their kids ran around and played.
Anyway I ordered the machaca and egg burrito, in which you get your choice of beans or potatoes, I asked to get both and paid the extra and also added avocado. My friend ordered the chicken picado burrito wet. She let me try the chicken and it was seasoned well, however she didn't like the red sauce so much, it wasn't horrible as she has a preference for green.
As I mentioned aesthetics I loved that they give you complimentary chips covered in GUACAMOLE & BEANS!! Nice touch! Although I've had better chips, something about the grease they're fried in gave it a more crunchy and fatty taste. Since they ran out of salsa I asked a waitress who was cleaning for more pico de gallo in which she gladly and hurriedly brought a big bowl for our table. I also asked for salsa verde for my burrito which was also brought without hesitation. I covered my burrito with the pico and green sauce and it made all the difference in the world!
Definitely pick something out as they have a lot to offer here and see if you enjoy it as much...
Read morePatricia's Restaurant is simply amazing. From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with a warmth and hospitality that's reminiscent of visiting a beloved family member's home. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and appreciated.
But the real star of the show is the food. I can't get enough of their burritos - they're hands down the best I've ever had. The work's burrito in particular is a masterpiece of flavor and texture, packed with juicy meat, rice, beans, sour cream, and covered with their amazing sauce. Every bite is a delight, and I find myself daydreaming about it when I'm not able to visit the restaurant.
What's even more impressive is how affordable everything is, especially given the current state of the economy. Even with inflation affecting prices across the board, Patricia's Restaurant has managed to keep their prices at a level that's accessible for everyone. It's clear that they value their customers and want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their delicious food without breaking the bank.
Overall, I can't recommend Patricia's Restaurant highly enough. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, this place has everything you need. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is like family. If you haven't visited yet, you're...
Read moreWe walked out a year ago because we were so upset after a 45 minute wait time (with no food, warning or apology) and decided to give our previously favorite restaurant another try.
We waited 30 minutes for two sodas costing $6.00 that were flat, warm, with no ice followed by our dinner being served and told they were out of ice, salsa, and onions after our meal was served with no offer of substitution.
In their defense; after complaining we were refunded for the sodas and then purchased cold sodas from the fridge. Fridge sodas cost $1.50 vs. $3.00 fountain sodas.
My husband got a shrimp taco that was a tortilla with shrimp absolutely swimming in ONLY loads of butter. His carne asada tacos were the same; open face with just plain meat and tortillas. No salsa, onions, cilantro - nothing.
We would have liked the chance to order other items with this knowledge before being served, but once again left and swore this is the last time.
I'm so sorry to see this family owned restaurant either not be able to afford ingredients or not care enough to warn customers that their Mexican entrees will have little to qualify them as such.
We'll stick to the family's other restaurant Casa Sanchez up the road on Cherry. We're always greeted by the owner with a big smile and welcoming, friendly service - along with authentic...
