I've had macarons from a ritzy Beverly Hills joint as well as a couple international options in my worldly travels, including a more touristy popular Parisian location... Sweet & Saucy makes them oh so phenomenal! S CA is fortunate to have S & S here to indulge in the tasty pastry.

I've also ordered a couple cakes for past occasions... which came out looking and tasting phenomenal.

How about this company totally forgot to bake my wedding cake!!!! We paid for a tasting, drove 6 hours from San Francisco and met with Katherine in November. The tasting went great and we submitted payment. My wedding was February 15th and everything was perfect with the exception of never receiving our cake. This vendor simply forgot to bake a 4-tier wedding cake and used the excuse that they had an invoice error. Their solution was to deliver cake pops three hours after the ceremony to a formal wedding with a guy in a crew sweatshirt and a fake cake then attempt to charge me delivery. I received an apology through email and no contact info for the owner so I had to email Katherine to fight for a full refund. It was eventually granted. Nonna Mercato is a much needed addition to the Bixby Knolls and Cal Heights area. The focus is on French and Italian style pastries with sourdough bread, bagels, English muffins, pastas, and other items available. It feels like you could be at a quaint cafe in Europe while enjoying a kouign amann or croissant al fresco with expresso. I’ve tried a majority of the pastries and my favorites so far are the passion fruit kouign amann, matcha white chocolate croissant, and the savory vegetable hand pies. Everything is so good that you don’t want to share 😉 I usually get a sourdough loaf every week for avocado toast and sandwiches.
