The poke is good, but it is a bit pricey, especially considering the small portions of fish compared to the large portion of rice. One issue I've encountered is their refusal to serve the seaweed salad on the side. Previously, a gentleman was kind enough to accommodate my request with a small portion, but today, a different employee was persistent and rude about denying it. When I mentioned that I had received it on the side before, she insisted that it wasn't allowed.
I believe the customer service could be improved, and this situation could have been handled better. Offering the option to have the seaweed salad on the side would be a simple solution, as I personally prefer it that way rather than mixed into my poke bowl. It feels like a tactic to push customers toward purchasing a larger side portion instead.
If they truly want to provide great customer service, they should be willing to accommodate reasonable requests like this. As a frequent customer who spends a good amount on their poke bowls and who goes out of their way to drive to this location, I don't think it was an unreasonable ask. It's not as if providing a small portion separately would have affected the employee personally, yet they made a big deal out of refusing my request rather than making a simple accommodation.
Leaving this location after encountering this situation was very frustrating and disappointing. I may now consider another spot to get my poke as I now feel like it may not be worth it to come to this location knowing my experience may not be...
Read moreMy friend and I are never coming back. Almost $20 for a small bowl with small portions and horrible customer service. Most of the good reviews on here are from 3+ years ago.
My friend ordered a poke bowl w/ salad. She thought they had yellowtail and asked for that. The girl said “we don’t have yellowtail, it’s albacore” and proceeded to scoop the albacore in her bowl anyway.
They don’t mix the fish in a separate bowl with the sauces like other places do. They scoop the fish on your base and then just drizzle the sauces on top so it’s not really marinated if that’s your preference. Canned pineapple was also very sour.
I ordered a poke bowl with white rice. The rice was cool to touch, a little on the cold side. I noticed they don’t close the pot all the way either so either the rice was old or they aren’t closing things properly to regulate temperature. They also have a health code violation that says it’s been corrected for food temperature by the way. I also saw another review that mentioned the cold, hard rice.
I brought my food back and asked for salad instead of rice. No apologies. Did not check the pot or anything, the other person just continued packing...
Read moreman, I REALLY appreciate this place.
granted, I only ever get the same poke bowl ingredients (brown rice, hawaiian salmon and tuna, spicy mayo, kai sauce, spicy ponzu, cucumber, green and white onions, ginger, seaweed salad, avocado) and almond milk tea.
please, never change your hawaiian ingredients! SO DELICIOUS, and the fish has tasted fresh each time I've been here.
my only suggestion would be to maybe spritz the avocado with lemon/lime juice or a light layer of olive oil so over-entitled people 👀👀 don't start whining about browned avocado. (but then others will cry about food allergies to citric acid or olives, blah blah blah blah blah, although important yet alas, vicious cycles! and now i ramble)
anywho, thanks Poke Kai! you make my tummy and soul...
