🍣 What We Ordered (A Seriously Epic Feast!)
Our table was a full-on festival — everything looked and tasted amazing! Here’s what we devoured:
• Sashimi Tasting Platter (9-Grid Style): A visual and flavorful highlight — fresh, buttery, and beautifully arranged like edible art. • Tempura Shrimp Sushi Rolls: Crispy outside, creamy inside, and rolled to perfection. • Crispy Crab Claws with Daikon Salad: This combo was genius — the crunchy crab paired with refreshing daikon shreds was a match made in heaven. • Hot Stone Spicy Stir-Fried Chicken: Served bubbling hot in a stone bowl, spicy and addictive — perfect for chilly nights. • Tonkotsu Ramen: Rich, milky broth with tender pork — the kind of comfort that warms your soul. • Fruity Sparkling Sodas: Light, fizzy, and the ideal pairing to balance all the flavors.
Every dish was spot-on. Beautifully presented, generously portioned, and full of flavor. We left completely full… and ridiculously satisfied!

💰 Total Price: Around ¥1000 RMB (~$140 USD for 3 people) Honestly? So worth it. For the quality, atmosphere, and portion sizes, it felt like a great value. No wallet regret here!

📸 After-Dinner Tip: Take a Stroll to the Queen Mary
Don’t rush home just yet — extend the fairytale vibe with a stop by the Queen Mary, just a short drive from the restaurant!
This legendary ocean liner is actually the sister ship of the Titanic and is now permanently docked at the Port of Long Beach.
From a distance, it’s absolutely breathtaking — giant, grand, and glowing against the water. We walked along the pier, let the breeze wash over us, and soaked in the view.
A perfect slow walk to digest the meal and end the night on a magical note. 💫

Read morePreviously known as "Fusion Sushi," this location has undergone an interior renovation and a rebranding over the last few years. Currently, the atmosphere, food quality, and service can be considered among one of the best locations to dine in the Los Altos neighborhood.
Food Quality - I can be critical about food quality and presentation when it comes to Japanese cuisine and can report that Yume offers high quality options. Their menu is quite expansive and includes different types of sushi (fish type, handrolls, cut rolls, nigirizushi, sashimi), soups/noodles, meat bowls, bento boxes, and more. They do have lunch/dinner menu options, as well as a happy hour for those looking to save a few dollars. The price point in comparison with the taste, appearance, and quantity of your food is agreeable. Expect to spend at least $18 during your visit.
Atmosphere - the exterior of the restaurant is clean and in a safe neighborhood. There is often a security guard present during daylight hours as the location is beside a credit union. There is plenty of parking in a shared lot with the local grocery store and other businesses. The interior of Yume is beautiful. Following their renovation, they have chosen to decorate the booths, bar, and entryway to appear as if you are visiting a small Japanese village. There are bunting flags hung over the bar area, privacy screens to separate the booths, and a 2-D, model moon hung above the foyer. If anything, the atmosphere is a primary part of the experience.
Service - waiters and chefs are very attentive. All staff seems to practice good restaurant etiquette. I have not had a bad experience in the entirety of the business being open (Fusion Sushi branding to present) on any of my sporadic visits. However, please remember that the staff are only human, so staffing shortages and other unexpected complications can arise. If they seem stressed, it is because they are trying to provide good service among...

I think it’s a chain, but I went to the Long Beach location since it’s closer to home. Plus, I could grab a milk tea afterward! The atmosphere is great—everyone gets their own little booth, which is so cute, and the menu design is totally my style.
Takoyaki (Octopus Balls)
Their takoyaki is amazing—big chunks of octopus, a bit of spicy seasoning, and totally addictive. You can’t stop at just one!
Yume Premium Sushi Combo
A perfect balance of photogenic and delicious! This isn’t even their top-tier option (my wallet cried, so I went for the mid-to-high range one). It comes with 10 chef’s choice sushi and a hand roll, so it’s kind of like a blind box—you never know what you’ll get! I was thrilled to see a huge uni sushi, and every piece was incredibly fresh. The whole set was beautifully presented and generously portioned.
Grab Hand Roll Combo
Such a fun way to eat hand rolls! Usually, they come pre-rolled, but here you DIY them yourself. You just pick your favorite ingredients and roll them up—great for getting kids involved too! My little one, who usually doesn’t eat sushi, went all in because of the hands-on experience. Every ingredient was top-quality, and I highly recommend the jumbo scallop—it’s huge, naturally sweet, and totally worth ordering more of!
Uni Sushi & Tamago Sushi
Added these just to satisfy a personal craving, and they were so fresh and delicious! Even the rice was perfect.
Tonkotsu Ramen
The portion is so huge it made me question my life choices! They don’t skimp on ingredients either. Compared to places like Santouka or Tatsu, the broth here is smoother and creamier, with a slightly spicy undertone—kind of like spicy mayo. The chashu is well-seared, adding extra flavor.
