Don Angel Taqueria — Restaurant in Longview

Another chain mexican joint in longview! But this one is exceptional. Not only is the food more reasonably priced than local stalwarts like Don Pedro and Victorico's, but the portion sizes are larger and the food is very good. Please don't mess with Chipotle down the road, people. You can get a Victorico's experience at Don Pedro's prices at Don Angel. I truly do mourn New Moon, the restaurant that inhabitated this space, for many many years, and was a local icon, but I have lots of hope for Don Angel in the same space to succeed as both a drive through spot serving people coming from ocean beach highway but also shoppers at triangle mall and students at Mark Morris. It's a great option for lunch as well for office workers in downtown longview looking for breakfast or lunch or even something to pick up on the way home. All in all, it's a great addition to the Longview restaurant scene.

Please do order light mayo on your tortas, though, or no mayo, unless you really like the stuff. Standard burritos come with pico de gallo inside and you may want to ask for that off if you don't like that burrito style. But they are very accommodating and will make you what you like! Great fully bilingual service, fast orders, and consistently quality food are what to expect...

My father-in-law took a nasty fall the first of June 2023 and my wife has been caring for him full-time since then. We live in Portland, Oregon so I come up to Longview once a month to give her a break from her dad, and him from her.

His doctor's appointments require us to drive by Don Angel Taqueria and I'd been wondering about this place so today I stopped in for a quick lunch break and was happy I did.

Don Angel has an extensive menu that includes breakfast along with many combination meals, and limited childrens options. You order at the service counter and they bring your meal to you. I ordered a couple of carnitas tacos $3 each and was served in a few minutes later. The tacos were topped with onions and green salsa on street size corn tortillas. Delicious!

What set this place a part from the ones I've been to in most places is their salsa bar (dine in only). It's stocked with at least a dozen different toppings, salsas, pickled vegetables, and homemade hot sauces to make your order special.

The staff's friendly, place spotless, quick service, food is very good and the prices are moderate. Hands down better than any "Mexican" food chain restaurant you'd find. I'll definitely be heading back for a torta or some...

The birria tacos here are out of this world! The sauce is so good and tastes amazing poured on everything. Putting pico de gallo on the birria tacos makes them next level delicious. The rolled tacos are also very good. You can tell that they use quality ingredients in all of their food. The place is always clean and the staff is incredibly kind. My family is massive and many of the kids have very specific food orders, which can frustrate some people. The staff never gives any indication that they are annoyed with us, which I greatly appreciate and they always bring the food out to us.
