I'm just a white cracker who married a Vietnamese girl and then went to work in the entertainment industry in Saigon Hanoi and tqy minh I'll let you know when I lived in Vietnam I hardly ever ate anything other than Kentucky Fried Chicken looking for American food because the only American food in the early 90s was Kentucky Fried Chicken. apparently the colonel looks identical to Ho Chi Minh and that appears to be the only reason the Vietnamese let a western restaurant franchise coming to their country
But during the 1990s I guess Kentucky Fried Chicken as an American franchise did what American franchises do and demanded bulshit from Vietnam that Vietnam was not prepared to deal with.
So Ho Chi Minh at the time decided Kentucky Fried Chicken now belongs to Vietnam with no residual royalties whatsoever.
As a joke the country of Vietnam led by Ho Chi Minh destroyed the American Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchise and a lot of people will tell you it was because Ho Chi Minh actually looks like Colonel Sanders kid brother. And I couldn't make this up if I wanted to.
The only time I workout assaulted in Vietnam was when I was taking pictures of this amazing Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant and because the WIhad stolen Kentucky Fried Chicken from America I'll get assaulted by 2 security guards who immediately pulled the film out of my camera and tossed me on the ground and I later learned they assumed I was a spy for Kentucky Fried Chicken trying to get evidence in Vietnam their test of the restaurant chain.
But this is where it gets really good,
I wasn't a spy in Saigon trying to infiltrate the Kentucky Fried Chicken escapades there but none the less we did get our chicken tender meal for free after they realized I'm white, but the last person in the world that would support an American franchise coming into a third world country and destroying their economy.
Oddly enough to, my name is Kent and people always used to call me Kent, yucky....
Read moreHonestly this place has amazing food. I was really shocked and didn't expect it to be as good as it was. The service was horrible. I'm not sure if it was the owner at the register at around 1pm, but whether it was or not he was not very helpful at all. He wasn't necessarily rude per say, but he had a very unpleasant attitude that customers should never have to deal with. We got our food a little before closing and I asked for napkins and I wanted to be sure that we got some soy sauce. He rudely tells me that he put plenty in the bag and so we said thank you and walked out the door and they immediately locked the door behind us with at least 15-20 minutes left until closing time. We were going to eat in the parking lot since they were closing and when we opened the bag and saw there was no soy sauce or napkins only one pair of chopsticks and one plastic spoon. I tried to use the spoon and the edges of it were so sharp that it sliced my lip open causing me to bleed. We knocked on the door to ask for some soy sauce and napkins but not one person would come to the door. Needless to say the food is amazing and I highly recommend everyone try it, but just know you might have to deal with a very unpleasant customer...
Read moreThis is partly a failing on the part of Waitr, but the way the restaurant handled it was very poor.
It was movie night and we wanted to order food. We placed an order for a party of five through Waitr, the only part of which having any special request being mine where I asked for Chili Sauce. (Comes up later.)
Our delivery driver brings only two of our five orders, so we call the business (and Waitr, who was no help), to sort it out. They confirmed what our orders were and said they'd deliver it to us since we were right down the road.
They call us about ten minutes later to inform us that they actually can't deliver the food to us and we'd have to come get it ourselves. (They even said use the drive-thru) So we put our evening on hold and we drive to the restaurant that we had ordered delivery from to get our already made, paid for, and cooling food from the drive-thru window. I asked the person at the window if everything was there. They said yes. I then asked SPECIFICALLY for some chili sauce, and he said it was 'probably in there'.
There was no...
