Probably the best/worst experience I could have possibly had for my first time ever going!! I went for a farewell “party” for one of my coworkers. I got there a little after my coworkers and there was no host, one of the bartenders had to come and seat me. As we were sitting we all could smell a strong odor, what i thought was primer. They had some workers on the roof doing work and the noise from them working was very loud and unfortunate. What saved the experience was our server Joseph and our Chef, Cesar! Joseph had introduced him self and was very kind and very attentive!! Which was amazing!!! It came time for our chef to come out and cook our food. The overhead didn’t work and we had to be moved to another area, the only plus about that was it was a private room. The downside was the odor became even stronger!!! And the noise from the workers on the roof became louder. Cesar our chef was great!!! He was very entertaining and funny! He used the noise from the workers to his advantage to make jokes about it.! (He is a really great chef btw!!) He explained that they were supposed to start the roof work last week but since it had rained they postponed the work that needed to be done to this week. I’d give it more stars but the smell started to give me a headache and the noise was just awful! Thank god Sho Guns has some really great employees or I would have ended up leaving. Hopefully if I ever decide to go again, there won’t be any...
Read moreTried to eat there with my fiance tonight and sat in the sushi bar area not at a grill. Our waitress with pink hair had an attitude because we did not know what we wanted when she came to take our order and was making noises with her lips as she walked off. We waited 40 minutes to an hour for our food to come out and then when we it did come out the rice was the only thing that was remotely hot everything else on the plate was extremely cold. We tried to wave at the manager twice to come help us out and he ignored us after making eye contact and clearly seeing us trying to get his attention. Another waiter came to our table and felt our food was cold in his hand and said himself it was cold and to speak with the manager. Since we had tried to get the manager to come over already we did what we thought was fair and left $20 to cover the two beers my fiance had and the soup and salad that we did eat. The first waitress that had a poor attitude chased us out the door stating that we did not leave enough money we explained the situation to her as well and told her that I am pregnant and can not eat meat that has been sitting in the back and is not at a good temperature and there were too many issues tonight for us to even try anymore. Our food had literally three bites off the plate and they expected us to pay for it when they are the ones that ignored us and would not hear what was wrong to attempt to fix it!! We will not be returning in...
Read moreYesterday was my birthday, & my very first time at a hibachi grill.
CONS: I ordered the number 13, and I had never had lobster before. This lobster tasted like dirt. It tasted like it had sat at the bottom of the ocean for decades until it was caught - then wasn't even properly cleaned, then served. Now, my bf, who has had plenty of lobster in his life , says it was also the worst he's ever tasted.
The vegetables taste like the color beige. Sad beige.
Almost forgot the salad & soup they serve as appetizers. If you like mustard in your salad, get it. & if you like soup that tastes like chicken broth from the store, get it!
PROS: The only things everyone collectively liked were either their steak or fried rice. (9 people)
Our waitress, I can't remember her name, but she was super helpful and very attentive. She has humor and is very friendly and bubbly. So my 5 stars for the atmosphere/service were for her.
I am thankful to have gone to a restaurant for my birthday, & and am happy to have a wonderful waitress who made things better. however, I will never go here again because the food is just not great.
I have heard back in the day that this place was the go-to! I think people need to realize that with prices of ingredients going up, companies and restaurants are using cheaper ingredients. So while my experience wasn't the best, I'm sure it is true that they were the place to go, a...
