Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Lorain

We went to Freddy’s drive-thru for the first time last night 10-2-25 after hiking with our dog. The young man that took care of us was phenomenal and it was evident that the other staff members were awesome as well. As I said, it was our first time, so we needed a few minutes to look at the menu. The young man was incredibly patient, polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. He didn’t rush us and once we had successfully placed our order and pulled around to the pay/pickup window, he noticed our dog was with us and immediately offered a pup cup. Not only did they fill it to the top, but they also drizzled it with peanut butter after asking if that was okay. When I say they hooked her up, I mean they hooked her up, baby!! lol! I told my Husband when we got home that even if the food wasn’t great, they still deserve a five star review based on the extraordinarily awesome customer service alone. Much to my surprise, the food was fantastic! We ordered a chili dog, tater tots, a western style burger, a bacon double cheeseburger, onion rings and a pumpkin pie shake (they called it something else) and every bit of it was delicious. It was still hot and crispy, even after our 15min drive home -impressive!! I usually refuse to eat fast food because of the practically guaranteed poor quality and lack of even semi decent customer service. So I was blown away by this experience and I simply cannot say enough about the impeccable service and don’t have the words to accurately describe my satisfaction and appreciation for the young man running the drive-thru and the way the staff communicated perfectly and seamlessly prepared our order. I didn’t get the young man’s name, but wish I had, so that I could publicly commend him. That’s how much of an impact he made on me! (Which is so rare these days.) Even him telling us to have a blessed night was meaningful, because he was genuine and I knew that he meant it. This young man is the most valuable employee one could possibly hope for. Seriously! His top notch work ethic, sincere dedication and desire to please the customer reveals his profound empathy and commitment to doing his job to the absolute best of his ability. He is the reason I’m taking the time to write this review and so eagerly praise him. In a world full of people who couldn’t care less about their impact on society, this young man is a rare gem and an asset to Freddy’s in Amherst! This company is tremendously blessed to have him and will only continue to succeed so long as he’s an employee there. God truly has His hand on this young man and Freddy’s will prosper...

My husband and I went through the drive-through about 6:30 PM and we waited for 32 minutes just for onion rings and cheese curds. when we got home, which isn’t even 10 minutes away, the onion rings were barely warm and they tasted like they were sitting out and just refried to get hot. I ordered a large cheese curd and it came in a hamburger box, so I called and spoke with a man and his name started with a J I explained to him about the cheese curds, and he just kept saying I promise you if you got them in a white box it’s because we were out of the hamburger boxes. I told him I have ordered these a couple times before with a burger, and the burger came in a hamburger box, but I got a white box full of cheese curds. I said they have always been enough for like 3 people and this time barely enough for 2. He was rude and didn’t try to fix anything so I just hung up on him. I have ordered from the location in Avon and I have gotten cheese curds with a burger and the curds came in a cheese box a couple times, and it was full, a couple times in a white box. That location is much friendlier busier, and the longest we’ve ever had to wait was 15 minutes. I will order again from the app this time and if it’s the same issue, I will never eat there again. UPDATE: The district manager of Freddy's got in touch with me via a personal phone call. She offered me 2 coupons for 2 free meals to give Freddy's another chance to make it right. We went today and ordered 2 meals. Wow, what a difference!!! The burgers were hot and fresh and topped with a good amount of toppings! The fries were hot and fresh as well!! This is what I expected the first time I visited! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and my order was taken right away and the wait to get my meal was short! This is what will set you apart from the rest of the restaurants in the area! Great job Freddy's! A+! If you had a bad experience on your first visit, give them another try! They will make it right!

Walked in and ordered right away. Took a while to get our food. Burger was burnt around the edges as was the veggie burger (it was black, and over $10) Food was ok. Went back up to order custard sundaes and stood there for over 10 min. Nobody acknowledged us or attempted to take our order. We ended up going to dairy queen. Disappointed is an understatement.
