I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amaravati Indian Restaurant in Los Alamitos, California, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance.
But what truly stole the show was their impressive menu, particularly their biryani selection - it's HUGE! They offer a wide variety of biryanis, each one more tantalizing than the last. I opted for the Amaravati special Shrimp Biryani, and my friend tried Egg Plant Biryani and let me tell you, it was love at first bite!
Another highlight of their menu is their South Indian specials. From dosas to idlis, and vadas to uttapams, they have it all! The flavors are authentic.
Overall, I highly recommend Amaravati Indian Restaurant to anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. The service is top-notch, the prices are reasonable, and the food is simply outstanding. Don't miss out on this best Indian restaurant hidden in Los Alamitos - give it a try, and you won't be...
Read moreI was craving for some dosas and idlis so thought of checking this place out, because an Indian had highly recommended it. This place is nice and spacious, staff are polite and courteous but the food was quite disappointing. We ordered a few South Indian items - Plain Vada, Masala Dosa, Paper Dosa and Plain Idli. The vada and dosas were very greasy. The idlis were not really soft (although I am not much experienced, I still make better idlis and dosas at home!). Only the chutneys and sambar were tasty and good. I can’t speak for the North Indian food, because we didn’t try them. Definitely not going back for a South Indian food experience for sure. I really wished to write a good review before visiting this place because of how highly someone spoke of it, but this place failed us...

We both got the lunch buffet & were pleased to see multiple vegetarian as well as meat dishes. They made/brought fresh rice & naan for us once we ordered to complement the buffet choices. The food was awesome. My favorite meat dish was the goat curry, my favorite veg dish was Chana Masala. We were so impressed we ordered two more items for takeout while we were still enjoying lunch.
A side note: Our waitress was very polite, kind, & had no problem patiently answering our many questions. Most notably for me was she was “Johnny on the spot” w/ the drink refills which is a huge plus for me personally. Will be...
