Afters Ice Cream — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I love afters, their ice cream is absolutely delicious we love the milky buns. My rating is based on the experience i had last night (highland park location)with the employees. I haven’t had afters for a few years and wanted to satisfy our craving last night (may 26, 2020). We got there around 9 pm. I understand its late and perhaps close to closing time but if you didn’t want to sell anymore milky buns , just say hey just to let you know we are out of milky buns.

The girl who asked what i wanted stared at me blankly so i repeated what i wanted she then asked me to hold on and she went over to the other girl and whispered “they want milky buns”. There was long pause then the other girl said “fine just get more”.

They were both very serious i could tell they didn’t like that we ordered milky buns.

I would have been fine if they said there wasn’t any instead of the uncomfortable...

This place is VERY addictive! I love the staff at the new Highland Park location. They're very friendly, courteous, and employ quite a bit of common sense when it comes to customer service. They acknowledge everyone who comes in, and if they feel that it's taking too long with a customer they're serving, they make sure to pause and address the waiting customers by informing them that they'll be with them as soon as possible. I think that's fantastic! Their biscotti cookie butter ice cream is To-Die-For! I love that I can add cereal as a topping on my ice cream. Diabetes is not on my "to get" agenda anytime soon, so I'm going to continue to stay away from the milky bun!...

I had a split single scoop of jasmine milk tea and strawberry cookie ice cream. Texture was a bit gummy/tacky, like Thrifty-Rite Aid ice cream. The mochi was hard and caked in rice flour, which made it inedible... and, I'm sorry to say, the milky bun is just a glazed donut split in half with no hole (but 3x the price). Happy about their late hours, especially during the December lockdown, but $10 was steep for what I got. OK if you're in the neighborhood, but not worth driving more than a couple miles for...
