I hate to do this, but we had such a bad service experience that I unfortunately have to leave this review. Don't order the sweet potato fries.
The good stuff: The food tasted fine despite its small portions at $18, and the environment is actually very nice.
The bad stuff:
Arrived at 6:30pm, nobody even walked by our table to ask our order until we waved someone over at 7:00pm. It was NOT that busy, like nobody was waiting in the lobby or that kinda busy but it wasn't empty either, maybe 70-80% occupied or so.
We ordered the sweet potato fries, bulgogi rice plate, and and kimchi tofu. Nobody came and checked on us or got us water until the fries arrived COLD at 7:20, and they're also so hard and thin sliced they're much better labeled as "string chips" (not at all worth the $10). Then my bulgogi rice arrived warm, not sizzling hot as the table next to ours received. (They also had to wait a while for service and their food, tho they arrived after we did and still got served before us.)
We sent both back asking if theyre supposed to be this cold, my guest's Tofu plate still Hasn't arrived. 7:40 is when the tofu arrived, actually hot which was nice. 7:45 My bulgogi rice came back in a different plate, probably just microwaved which is fine, but I didn't ask to reheat I just asked if it's normally served cold.
The portion was NOT big enough to justify Terrible service all around. Both of us only ate a few bites and then asked the manager for a refund and he only offered us a free slice of cake or 10% off the fries only.
That was the insulting part, otherwise I would have just left it at that and not done this review.
No tip.
Luckily one if my favorite restaurants is just around the corner and they have PHENOMENAL service, bigger portions at lower prices, and just all around a better spot and I'm in a much better mood now...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic Korean food, this isn’t the place. The menu feels more like a mix of mediocre Korean-fusion dishes than true Korean cuisine.
Positives: The waiting area is cozy and inviting, with comfortable sofas and a relaxed vibe. Sports fans will appreciate the multiple TVs showing various games. Despite only having two servers, service was friendly, attentive, and impressively fast. Our server checked in several times to make sure we were taken care of.
Negatives: Unfortunately, the food fell short. Most dishes were either overly sweet or bland, and the drinks were overpriced.
We ordered several dishes to share. The Kimchi Bacon Pasta was a miss — mushy noodles smothered in melted cheese with bacon that had an odd, fishy flavor. It didn’t seem to know what it wanted to be.
The Seafood Cream Linguine lacked both flavor and texture, leaving us unimpressed. Based on these two dishes, this definitely isn’t the place to go for good pasta; for that, I’d recommend spots in The Grove, Larchmont, or other restaurant instead.
The Spicy Fried Chicken was dry, overly sweet, thick, doughy coating — more like sugar-crusted fried bread than chicken.
The Bulgogi Quesadilla was just okay, but the condiments were disappointing. It came with salsa roja, sour cream, and jalapeños, but the salsa was so vinegary it was inedible.
The Clam Chowder was decent but nothing special, but easily the best dish we tried.
At $15 a beer, drinks felt unreasonably expensive.
After trying multiple dishes, the clam chowder was the only thing we genuinely liked. While the service and atmosphere were pleasant, the food simply didn’t deliver. We...
Read morehonestly wish i could rate this place higher but i came away not very happy with my experience, allow me to explain why. my friends and i came out to k-town on a saturday night for a show at the wiltern and decided to stop for dinner here before. our show was at 9:30 and we arrived around 7:30. the yelp waitlist was super helpful and with it we were able to seated as soon as we arrived as a party of 5. we took a few minutes to look over the menu and ordered our drinks & apps. a bit later, maybe 16 or so minutes we also ordered entrees. the food took a bit to come out but nothing terrible, however it came out staggered to the point that my entree and another ones of my friend’s entree did not come out until we had to leave the restaurant for our show, at least an hour after we had ordered either dish. we basically just took them to go, and our waiter was very apologetic and told us to come back and ask for him so he could give us some soju on the house. i thought that was nice, especially since earlier in the night another member of the staff had gifted a free bottle of lychee soju (my friends and i joked it was likely because we had ordered so much food lol). however, in our rush to leave, my friends and i did not notice they charged us for the “gifted” soju. i will be coming back because the food was delicious (we loved the rice cake appetizers & the cracked corn) and the atmosphere is really nice, i just hope i have a better experience when it comes to the service. maybe a less busy time might be the...
