“Excuse me, which ones are vegan?” “Oh, they’re all vegan” I wanted to cry 😭! Her name was Moss (I hope I spelled her name right), she was so lovely and let me know more about their kitchen/bakery and all their amazing pastries. I didn’t know which ones to get, luckily I brought my little family so we can try many. They were so delicious, so amazingly good. My son loved his croissant and he’s very picky, they have to be flaky and crispy and not dense. I’m so glad daughter wanted to brownie, it’s so yummy and huge so you can easily split it and have 2-4 pieces. The bakery spot they’re at is small but charming, we ate our treats outside and loved the whole experience. Next time we visit LA we are definitely coming here for croissants, pastries and...

Baker's Bench is a little stand in Chinatown's Far East Plaza. I visited it a couple of times and mostly tried their croissants. The butter croissant is indeed very buttery, with fine, crispy layers, and moist dough inside. Maybe the crust can be a notch harder, but that's all I can complain about. It somehow reminded me of Chinese onion pancakes, which was a great surprise. The chocolate croissant, on top of the nice croissant texture, has excellent melted chocolate filling and is very satisfying.

On the other hand, $6 croissant and $7 chocolate croissant are a bit pricey even compared to the best brick and mortar bakeries in the city. The very limited business hours also make it less ideal as a place to get...

First of all, I’m not vegan, however you don’t have to be to enjoy these TREATS. In a blind taste test I would not be able to tell the difference. Bakers Bench has perfected these recipes and the hard work pays off. Super cute spot with a beautiful backyard right next door to Heavy Water(also phenomenal) can’t wait to walk here everyday and get myself a sweet little treat. The chocolate croissant had to be my favorite but the sesame cookie was insane, the cinna knot thing was so gooey inside again it’s hard to believe there not butter and milk in these bad boys. Apricot danish was also heavenly and apricot is not even my favorite!!! Can’t wait to try literally everything 12/10 stars...

I’d been reading about Baker’s Bench for a few months now via Burgerlords. Yesterday I finally decided to give it a try and made sure to get there early so I had the most variety - and damn they didn’t disappoint. Being vegan, I don’t think I’ve had a croissant in years and now I want to have one weekly lol. The chocolate one was absolutely amazing. I’m also a big fan of coffee cake, and have to say I throughly enjoyed theirs as well. Only item I got that wasn’t out of this world (but still above average) was the Apple Maple danish. Wasn’t as maple-e as I was expecting. I also let my roommates try my haul (not vegans) and they were shocked at how good they were.
