We stopped by midday for a late lunch. The street parking out front is closed around that time some needed tonl find street parking near by but it wasn't that bad. It was hot af outside, but they had a place to eat outside. Everything came super fast, super hot, & was absolutely delicious. They small dice their asada, which blows my mind & gave a great meaty texture to the tacos. Al pastor was solid with a nice charred flavor and meat was still juicy. Chicken was awesomely tender & fantastic. Shrimp with adobo was amazing. Three large pieces of shrimp marinated in adobo, fantastic. I have a tooth ache so I cant eat anything crazy spicy until it gets better done got their aguasalsa and mild. The first has no heat & it creamy, good for someone that cant do spicy. The mild was super flavorful and & a nice little kick with was good for me and my busted tooth. Oh, we also had the vampiro with shrimp & an asana burrito. The vampiro comes with a garlic sauce that makes the queso taste like alfredo sauce, but like in the best way possible. Super glad I got that with shrimp. The beans in the burrito were amazing. Basically everything was seasoned perfectly. Salt level was balanced & all the other flavors shown through. Had a strawberry pineapple agua fresca & will try the other flavors next time. Very refreshing. The cashier was a very sweet girl who was extremely patient with us and all of our questions, since it was our first time. The kitchen staff really pumped out the food so fast & it was so, so perfect. We can't wait to go back again. Highly recommend this norteño style taqueria. Oh, btw you can choose flour or corn tortillas. The flour tortillas were super thing and fantastic. We got everything on flour, but next time I cant wait to try everything on all corn. Six tacos, a vampiro, & a burrito was plenty & we were starving. Ended up taking the burrito home & finishing it later. Also, it came with chips which was awesome. Can't say enough good things. Was...
Read moreAs a DoorDash delivery driver, we have a certain pick up rate/percentage that we must keep. If it says pick up by 12pm… that means the food was suppose to be bagged and completed, ready to go by 12… but when I got there, the order was still being prepared, there was no line, the store only had 6 people in it and they were already sitting down eating, and I just expected them to be more on point and professional when it came to being on time. Unfortunately, I was not able to pick up my clients food on time, for I sat in the store several minutes waiting for it to be completed watching staff do various things to busy themselves since they had no customers, I watched the cook stare at me several times asking if I was the DoorDash driver picking up the food… I’m not sure if he deliberately was making me wait since I was on time waiting, all I know is when we don’t pick up the order on time (as they also have a ready by time which is always the same as our pick up time,) our ratings go down. And It affects us 2 ways: pick up on time rating and drop off on rating. If we don’t pick it up on time it then affects our drop off on time delivery… and if we are late delivering then the computer doesn’t give us another order because someone else in line gets the next order in the queue because we didn’t deliver on time to continue our route… pretty much he was effing with my money! This day luckily, I was able to speed and drop my delivery off within 1 minute of the delivery drop off schedule..to not lose my place in the queue and thus continue working and making money, but the food was late at pick up… and for no good reason… so overall, there’s a billion taco shops and this is just...
Read moreThis is a really small place you wouldn't really pass by unless you knew it existed, coz there aren't many restaurants around. But my, is the food good?! I found the place online when going through some LA must-eats before a vacation, and it was definitely worth the trip. I had the Chicken Vampiro Quesadilla, couldn't miss out on that now could I, and it was so good! I requested them to use corn tortillas instead of the flour ones, and since those were smaller they made me kind of like a quesadilla sandwich. It was just loaded with meat, and that great garlic sauce. Such an amazing dish. There didn't seem to be any cheese in there, which was good. I also tried the Chicken Cachetada without cheese, and it was a crispy corn tortilla with another large amount of chicken and their Chipotle aioli. The sauce was nice and spicy, which was just what I was hoping for. I wasn't a fan of the crispy tortilla though, so I think next time I'd just go for a regular quesadilla version instead. My boyfriend hot the Queso Fundido with chicken, and he really enjoyed it. It came with guacamole and 3 watm soft tortillas. I was expecting the Queso to be a little more on in the liquid side, so it was a bit too thick for me. I wasn't too big a fan of the dish as a whole, guess Monterey Jack isn't my kinda cheese. He also got a horchata, which was good. Not too sweet like most others out there. The quantity was also decent. The woman at the counter was the sweetest ever, and got along well with all the customers. There also seemed to be some regulars, this place is clearly a hidden gem. Would definitely go back for the Vampiro Quesadilla!
