Used to be a regular spot for me when I get delivery (usually only 1-2x a month) so I have continued ordering from here bc it was consistently great. The last time I ordered it was honestly really sub par. I finally ordered again tonight ready to chalk it up to an off night and unfortunately this was just… honestly appalling. Giving 2 stars because you deserve 0 after tonight but you used to be great. And those 2 stars are only bc of that.
Ordered:
Whole Chicken: zero garlic sauce. It was so dry the meat is actually crumbly. Had I had a sauce to hide the burnt skin and chicken sand, I likely wouldn’t be so annoyed.
Chips & Salsa: thankful that I ordered this after seeing what happened with the chicken - it got worse quickly. I ordered the mild salsa. I got a small container of salsa verde. And a small container of mild salsa. So I decide to have some and loaded up one of the week old chips that were broken into 1” pieces and suffer from an iodine deficiency into the red salsa and took a bite. OH. AMAZING. You didn’t send me mild. You sent me INSANELY HOT salsa. And guess what?! I broke out in hives and had to take emergency Benadryl. I - knowing I am allergic to your spicy salsa - have not - and would not - EVER - order it. If you have 2 salsas that your own staff can not differentiate from one another and one of them is extremely spicy?? You are truly obligated to not make this mistake. You sent me 2 of them btw. In 2 different sized containers.
Churros: Annoyingly you now force people to buy 3 to get 3 free vs the buy 1 get 1 I always got before. Fine. Whatever. I bought 6 churros. And you sent me not a single one of them.
Tortillas: Got taco sized which isn’t what you usually send. Half of them are still gonna need to be cooked. Half are cooked … enough. Not that I had anything to use them for.
Rice & Beans: It wasn’t until tonight that I remembered what canned refried beans that sit in a cafeteria school chaffing dish for hours and hours smell and taste like.
Come on you guys. You actually can’t be serious sending this out to customers??? Did yall get sold or something? New management? I truly doubt a single one of your employees would’ve eaten this meal even if it was given to them for free. It was actually that nasty. I hope you can get back to what was working for you because I can not justify another chance after whatever this was. Shameful. Spent $62 and I’m going to bed hungry. Not in this economy Benny. Not in...
Read moreNot sure what the fuss is all about considering this establishment is located in the taco paradise that is SoCal. Here's a quick recap of our MEH culinary experience:
The GOOD. (1) Location is nice and storefront is a neat, bright yellow with fun signage & graphics. (2) Ordering experience was pretty quick & seamless. (3) Food was prepared/cooked to order and came out fairly speedily.
The BAD. (1) Our 2 Taco Platters had an upcharge of $.50 for al pastor which was not on the menu. I totally get inflation; still, upgrade your menu. (2) The carnitas was overcooked and hence dry and hard. All who ordered carnitas tacos had overcooked, dry, hard meat. (3) No limes so they gave us a bunch of lemon slices. I asked at the outset if they had limes and they told me yes. For me, limes make or break Mexican food. It's like pho without cilantro(I love Korean cuisine). (4) There was no sides fixing station that you normally find at good Mexican joints (pickled veggies, jalapenos, salsas, etc.). However, when I asked about if they could give us some, the waitress/cashier dismissed my question and told me/us they didn't have such fixings/toppings. But when the food came out, some of the items were there, i.e. pickled onions on our barbicoa and pickled jalapenos on our nachos. This communicated stingy-ness and considering the price, this was unacceptable. (5) The lack of guacamole for a couple dishes that were supposed to have guac was bad, and the portions of the food left much to be desired. (6) My 9 year old guy who LOVES Mexican barely finished half his platter. He's a foodie and kills tasty Mexican fare.
The UGLY. ~ Not going back to this place and certainly wouldn't...

I personally love the soup it wasn't spicy the spice was on the side it wasn't overly spiced out you could feel the chicken broth and the fresh boiled chicken with slices of squash and zucchini and if you carry it to pieces with some cabbage which makes it a healthy combination that I really enjoyed.
It comes with a choice of tortilla you can get corn that's gluten free I suppose and the side of rice small portion with some diced onions on the side.
The surf and turf was definitely a big meal consisting of beef and shrimps. We added guacamole and sour cream which gives it a whole different taste. It comes with bell peppers stuffed in it and some cheese and on the side some tortilla chips that was tasty and well fried.
The stuff were very lovely and friendly we ended up sitting outside, it's a nice corner for food that tastes like homemade we were going to the Cinco de Mayo down the street but I'm so glad we ended up with the start of food instead that's definitely a plus if you don't feel like cooking and still want some homemade Grandma...
