I went in here after literally more than a week of debating where I should go to get a tuna melt. I was craving a tuna melt but everywhere I looked I didn't have a feeling that my craving would be satisfied. But, I had to get rid of this craving. So I ended up walking in here, less than an hour before closing, and placed my order. I waited a very short time before taking my order home. I opened the container and found what looked nothing like any other tuna melt I'd ever had. I had no idea what all of the toppings and ingredients were, but there was a lot of everything and I had reservations about even just taking a bite. Surely, this is not what I pictured, so I had little confidence that I had made the right decision when I chose this place. Finally, I took a bite......the explosion and variety of flavors.....everything was so fresh.....I took another bite and then another. I kept inspecting the sandwich after each bite trying to figure out what I had been doing my whole life without this sandwich. It filled me up but it felt like I had just gotten a shot of every vitamin. It was, hands down, the best tuna melt I'd ever had, ever. That was several months ago. I've got that same craving and I'm so scared to go back and order this tuna melt again. I can't imagine it'll be as good as I remember, hardly anything ever is. But I really, really want it. I have to have it again. Please don't change anything about this tuna melt. I don't think there is anything that could replace it.
UPDATE: This is where the magic happens! It was as good, if not better than I remember. I thought for sure I had built it up in my head so much that it couldn't possibly reach such a high pedestal. I was never happier to be wrong. Turns out, that's just how they make it. I have officially added this tuna melt to the short list of things that I think I could eat every day. Now the problem is, how could I even try anything else here? I'm sure the quality extends beyond a single item on the menu. But how could I go and not order the tuna melt? I suppose I could order two items and just make sure the second item is something that will still be good the next day. I need to start a...
Read moreI was actually here a month or two ago and was debating reviewing this place for a while. I wanted to hate this place because they’re actively supporting Israel who are committing genocide but I put aside my morals to try it out. And damn that was the best bagel I’ve had in LA. Really not particularly close either. Everything was perfect, the bread was somehow soft and crunchy at the same time blended to a perfect mix. Toasted perfectly. Good cream cheese, like it even mattered after the bread. Truly one of one experience that actually lived up to bagels I’ve had on the East coast. And I got plain on plain. Do people realize how hard it is to make a good plain bagel with plain cream cheese? I didn’t even care that it was $6 I woulda paid $10.
But yea anyway unfortunately they support Israel who has killed 40,000+ civilians, denied hostage negotiations and killed more of their own citizens than Hamas. So I can’t support Bibi’s again.
Bibi’s, if you’re listening I would like to make you a offer: take down the Israel flags and you’ll get my $6+ once a week as long as I can breathe and leave my apartment. (Seriously Israel’s economy is gonna collapse in a few months anyway you don’t want to die on that hill. I’m Jewish too I get it, but cmon Israel isn’t even trying to hide the bloodlust). Until the Israel flags are taken down, however, I simply can’t give you my business again.
I’ll just have to keep those delicious bagels...
Read moreEdit: Probably the best pizza i ever had in my life, but oh my goodness avoid the eggplant Parmesan which is really a Turkish eggplant salad on really good bread.
This is a very nice place with many options. Their pizzas are great and so are the baked goods. My only complaint is that they make the worst sandwhiches. When i first ordered the tuna melt, i was horrified at how bad it was. The chease was undercooked and it was missing additional features such as vegetables or flavor, and I’ve never really had a bad sandwich in LA before. Then i tried again with the eggplant parmesan sandwich. This was actually the second worst sandwich i ever had in my life. The eggplant wasn’t breaded, it was as if they took a eggplant pizza topping, added chease and tomato sauce on it, and put it in a pizza oven for 5 minutes. Actually now that i think about it, thats exactly what happened. Please do yourself a favor and eat at this resturaunt, but never order the sandwiches, they just are really bad. I’ve ordered kosher sandwiches in just about every major (high jewish population) city in America and this resturaunt happens to have the worst in my experience for restaurants that are still...
