UPDATE: Tried to address the issues from this order with the Manager on duty, Oscar. He was defensive, and went the way of "Well we can agree to disagree".
He also then started stating unprofessional statments likem 'Well we're still working these things out... we've only been open 8 months..." I reminded him it takes a few minutes to remind employees to be responsive to customers and that if an order takes 10 minutes, don't say, 'Just a few seconds...' which is misleading - especially as the there were no other custoemrs on line and 4 of them stood around not helping. The finish to this unhelpful conversation was him taking a nasty turn to, "Well I don't need your negativity" - in response to valid points of no one sharing the order comes with (soggy, cold) fries, and my reminding him 8 months is not 'just opened' - they've had 8 months to learn to help customers navigate a VERY poor set up from where the actual register is to what comes with an order!)
An email with verbatim notes of this conversation was emailed just now to the actual Owners.
We're all very privileged on here to have the luxury of food. I realize this. So I share this review in the knowledge that these are 'high class problems' - eating bad food you paid extreme money for...
Probably THE WORST 'healthy fast food' high-priced, over-priced, disgusting meal I've had in the longest while.
TRULY BAD.
The concept is kinda like 'Chipotle Meets Middle-Eastern' - only instead of it tasting yummy and feeling affordable - this was so bad that I took 5 bites (kept thinking I'd grow to enjoy it??) and then threw it away. I was left with a bag of disgusting soggy fries (FRIES??? With Schwarma and pita??!) Exactly.
The pita was doughy and flavorless. The falaffel was flakey and crumbly and weird - it has CELERY in it. Large chunks. ????
And the 'hummus' was like mayonnaise - creamy and shiny and salty with none of that great flavor we generally associate with great hummus.
And again - the fries (FRIES???!) were soggy, mushy, and flavorless.
The only good thing was the over-priced 4$-a-can San Pellegrino soda the gal ringing up the order referred to as 'juice' - but it's $1.75 a can at Gelson's or Ralph's. And only $.99 a can at Trader Joe's, so...
DO NOT RECOMMEND.
And for all this awful mess? $26.75 ???!!! YES.
Close to 30 bucks for this horrible meal.
Shame on whomever is running this shop. With Managers like "Oscar" running things, it seems improving/learning from mistakes is not in the cards- so they're riding the wave and likely will be out of business within the next 2-3 years, as has every other 'fast food' eatery in that space for the past 30 years (TRUTH, you can google...
Read moreI was disappointed. I visited the place on a Friday at 1pm, so maybe it wasn't the best time? I can't help it comparing the place to shawarma restaurants in Miami and Isreal - it has a lot to learn from them. Depressing atmosphere, sad and troubled employees, but most of all the food is very average. If the owner wants to learn how to make fantastic food, he should visit Hummus Achla in Hallandale Beach Florida. We wish them all the best and hope they work hard to improve it all. The tahini was dry and hard, fries were made hours before sold and soggy. They ran out of shawarma at the middle of the day, so we got shnitzel, which was very oily. The Hummus looks like clay and tasted like a bought sabra Hummus from the supermarket. Price was a bit expensive. The cashier told me to order at the cashier first, but a couple that show up after me ordered at the griller counter. One thing was very good is the cleanness, but even that was strange as the grill man wiped the counter with his bare hands throwing the food on the floor. He then mistakenly dropped the bag of fries on the floor, picked it up and served it to me. (owner, see security camera from this Friday to verify). There were about 6 employees working there, but most of them were having a private discussion, not recognizing me standing there for a long time. Ordering two identical meals to go took over 20 minutes. I really can't give this place more than 2 stars, but I do believe that if the owner wants to invest in the best experience he or she will treat every review with the upmost care and work hard to improve everything. The food business is all about the experience. If a client is not stepping into a welcoming environment, the food...
Read moreIf you're craving flavorful, satisfying shawarma, this restaurant is a must-try. From the moment you walk in, the inviting aroma of spiced meats grilling over an open flame sets the stage for a delicious meal. The shawarma here is perfectly seasoned, with tender cuts of chicken, beef, or lamb wrapped in freshly made pita or flatbread. Each bite is a balance of juicy, well-cooked meat and a medley of toppings like crispy fries, fresh vegetables, and a creamy garlic sauce that ties everything together.
The restaurant also offers a variety of sides, including hummus, salads, and warm, fluffy pita bread, all of which complement the main dishes beautifully. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistent. Whether you're dining in or getting takeout, the service is friendly and efficient, making for a great experience overall.
The ambiance is casual but cozy, perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends or family. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, making it a great value for the money.
Overall, this shawarma restaurant offers an authentic taste of Middle Eastern cuisine with fantastic flavors, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some delicious,...
