I really wanted to like this place, I aim to support mom & pop places as much as I can, so I did my research, but right off the bat, it didn't bode well.
PROS: Street parking was available. Decor was cozy & inviting. Owners were friendly and seemed nice. Restroom was clean & spacious.
CONS: Atmosphere - Street parking signs declared "No Parking. 1 Hour Limit is Enforced." Upon walking in, I immediately opted to sit outside in order to avoid smelling like cooked food. (I used the restroom later and I still left smelling of cooked food.) Not long after I chose a table, one of the owners supported by a crutch came out and used a small leaf blower, albeit quietly, but for no reason, while I was seated outside.
Service - Counter staff was disaffected and supposedly asked about milk for my cappuccino. When we found ourselves staring at each other, she only repeated herself and at the same volume. She did offer to warm the muffin I ordered, but then later forgot that I'd ordered a muffin at all. At the time, there were no other customers and coffee was the only thing she needed to tend to.
Food - The prices were high for what you don't get. Ingredients were skimped on - there were precisely 5 blueberries in a large "blueberry" muffin, and the muffin, while fluffy, tasted like it was from a box mix. My cappuccino had a thin, bubbly layer of oat milk on top of it. I paid an extra $1.85 for avocado for my breakfast burrito, and I finally found 2 thin half slices in it when I was almost done eating. The potatoes which came on the side were a scant quarter cup and several chunks were undercooked. The burrito was small and its filling was grungy-looking, signs of the ingredients being cooked scrambled all together on a griddle not kept clean. I was hungry, so it was filling, but I now have indigestion, a headache, and am very parched.
I can empathize with supply costs rising and the restaurant business being unpredictable and staff experiencing an off...
Read moreToday was a good day! I woke up early without an alarm and got the essentials done before noon. When I came here a little after noon, I ordered the Breakfast Croissant to be made semi-vegan, the Horchata Latte w/ Oat Milk, and a nice square piece of Coffee Cake. I ended up finding out about this place from a flyer in the mail.
My Breakfast Croissant came with everything except cheese and eggs. The grilled bell peppers, grilled onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, & spinach with the spread of hummus hit the SPOT for my breakfast. The Croissant is buttered though, hahaha. Prior to coming here, I ate light. An apple w/ creamy peanut butter, so this breakfast croissant filled me up to last several hours. I didn't feel unsatisfied with the removal of the cheese & egg. I didn't care for the small sauce it comes with, but everything else was just as delicious!
I don't even like coffee, but when I go to these cafe's I always get them, hahah, so this time I ordered a Horchata Latte w/ Oat Milk. It was partly sweet and bitter. Wasn't a big fan of the initial sip, but I'll finish it off. It's not bad.
CoffeeeeeCake!!! is so yummy! Such a tasty, classic dessert. I only took a few bites to save the rest for breakfast in the following day. The crumble and sweetness were RIGHT where they needed to be. Very good Coffee Cake!
The service was smooth and accommodating from Alexander. He has pretty brown eyes (No Cody Simpson) and made sure to ask if I could get my modified Vegan Breakfast Croissant from the cook. He did forget to give me my coffee cake, but it was completely fine. He apologized multiple times, but I wasn't trippin. He gave it to me gracefully and I enjoyed my breakfast on the...
Read moreOkay so this is a new upcoming cafe and as much as I want to leave a 5 star review I can't. I am a local and love to try new foods and coffee so I mus give my complete honest review. The service was great! Cashier was friendly and answered all the questions I had. I ordered the loaded breakfast burrito and a latte. I took about 40 min for me to get my food and about 10 min to get my iced latte. The cashier informed me that the coffee is locally brewed and their pastries are local as well. I was not a fan of their espresso it was really bitter and flavorless. The burrito was such a disappointment. It had very little food that it was mainly all tortilla. I've had multiple breakfast burritos and this one did not make the cut. It needed more bacon and on top of that I added avocado and my meal ended up being $20. I don't mind paying that but for a burrito with no flavor and for how small it was I was better off getting a burrito at taco bell. I will however give this place another chance by ordering their french toast and pastries. Hopefully next time I won't be disappointed in the food. Parking will be street parking, they are open...
