The Beckett Mansion — Attraction in Los Angeles

I attended an estate sale here and got to snoop the home from top to bottom. While shopping I met potential buyers of the property who inform me they won't be scraping the rickety thing off the plot as it's a historical monument. With that I agree.

The house and all of its additions are amazing, quirky, not to code, drafty, unstable and possibly dangerous. I loved it. It had been hoarded with vintage and antique everything. Auctions and Estate Sales Won, an estate contents liquidator, was charged with the appraisal and sale of the contents.

It has four levels including a gargantuan attic... Like, HUMONGOUS!.. insane! It has Clawfoot Bathtubs in all of the bathrooms. There were great antique lighting fixtures and sconces and chandeliers. The bottom level had a walk in SAFE built in with steel framed vaulted door. Some native american indian (looking) people showed up at an uncanny time for the fun photo of the safe with them peeking into it attached.

It was unfortunately in terrible repair which is part of its character. I really enjoyed this place and I hope it gets a good preservation / restoration. My best to...

I have been OBSESSED with this remarkable space, dominating the block, for a little over a year now. I'm thrilled that its owners have invested their hearts and souls into this passion project.
