Lets start here. CCC used to be better and kind and simple and easy. The problem is they think they're doing us common folk a favor now. Imagine restaurant's that refuse to take orders over the phone while at the same time over charging for the same food and smaller portions. WTH!! I don't trust ordering food online for several reasons. Mainly because they generally give you less and they just throw the food together. You cannot ask for certain item with or without and even if you do orders always still wrong. Ordering online is irresponsible and leaves you vulnerable to fraud and theft. Its a total turn off. Someone should remind them you're not doing us any favors were financially supporting you and we have a choice of where to eat. You're food is not special its average at best. Many people eat there just because they think is a healthier option, as did I. I like the chicken but I can make it better with my air fryer that roasts to perfection. I'm just lazy sometimes and that's where they benefit from lazy people. But over pricing for the same amount of food and making it more difficult to order via the phone will eventually be their undoing. Lazy folk will still eat there but people who like good food and better portions and and easy experience will not. The problem is I don't even think they care. And it shows. The GM must be a robot and they all follow orders like drones. This is the downfall of American dinning the future is bleak to...
Read moreI have been coming to this location for about 10-12 years and have never been disappointed, except for my most recent visit on June 3, 2024. California Chicken Cafe usually offers great food. This visit, I ordered the 8-piece dark meat special, Cafe Caesar Salad, and a Medium Seasonal Fruit Salad. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, juicy, and falling off the bone as usual. The salad was also good; I added extra corn, extra white cheddar cheese, and extra Caesar dressing, making it fresh and tasty.
However, the disappointment came with the Fruit Salad. Almost every grape was squashed and looked old, and there were more grapes than any other fruit. The grapes were so soft they made me feel ill eating one—they were like mush. The cantaloupe was good, the strawberries were good, and the pineapples were okay, though slightly brown. I usually save the fruit salad for last because I love the different rich flavors, but this time, there was no enjoyment, just disappointment, and I ended up throwing half of it away. Overall, I give this experience two stars. It is unacceptable for a kitchen manager or quality control person to let such a poor fruit salad leave the establishment and make it to someone's home. Extremely...
Read moreUpdated post: Tips to ordering better tasting chicken for your salad in my opinion is to ask for the roasted chicken or warm chicken instead. My good husband heard my complaint about the chicken in their salad and ask them one day, and sure enough you can get the warm protein with a little extra charge andI like it much better! Thanks, Hon!! This makes me think that most of the restaurants would always have something that're not on the menu, don't be afraid to ask! Afterall, you're the consumer and restaurants do want you to come back (at least most of them!) So my rating for CCC is upgraded to 4 stars now :D
Original post: Great for lunch! Vege salad is excellent, California chicken salad is popular too, however, lately, the chicken meat in the salad seems to go downhill, blend, fatty, not tasty at all to me. The side dishes are cool, especially the chicken pasta, they use dark meat in this which i think is different than those in the salad so rest assure. Hot potatoes and squash are also very nice. Service are professional, suggest u call in for pick up to save time, always a line at lunch. O, if kids like drumsticks, they have good deals on that cause most people order...
